Simply...YES!

crysis has some coding problems hence it runs so poorly on high end rigs at very high
but farcry2 from wat ive seen in the vids looks to be coded much better then crysis.
dnt forget if consoles can run the game with almost all the eyecandy then the highend PCs should rip through this game.
lets face it pcs r 2 to 3 times more powerful then the consoles

Lets not forget the tech demo was shown on an OCTO-CORE system - Im sure Crysis would also run as smoothly on such a beast.

Optimization was Crysis's main issue. Remember it was the users not the devs that made Crysis play better on many peoples rigs when at first they didn't...a problem that FC2 would have learned from and not repeat. Having said that, a old low-end PC will not play it well.

if that was true then we would have seen much better performance on quad cores but the prformance is same on Qs and dual cores
crysis needs much more GPU power to run the game with all the bells and wistles
even with two 9800 GX2s the fps doesnt go above 60 at max settings

exactly the costum setting made crysis play better on the high end rigs
i use the costum ultra high settings i get much better performance and eyecandy then the normal very high settings
