Make weapons gotten from the weapon store degrade much much slower. I can understand that weapons picked up from the ground might jam often, but brand new ones? That's bloody rubbish and only forces to get new ones from the weapon store all the time. I have started to get new weapons between each and every mission because the SAW starts to jam after 300 rounds have been fired with it, which is a darn bloody joke.

One comment to those who believe a 5 inch tree should not withstand a car colliding with it: You might be able to bring such a tree down when ramming it with a sufficiently high speed - but your car and probably you too will be gone after that. Sounds like you people demanding that have never dealt with (fresh) wood.

As well as all the popular ones above, I'd like to add my 2c (even though they're mentioned)

- Having been to many conflict zones in Africa (with the UN WFP and Red Cross), there are a lot more black people than white people. Make it so! At the moment, it seems that most enemies are white South Africans, so I basically have to kill my fellow countrymen, speaking Afrikaans, my second language! Duh! Africa isn't populated by white South African mercenaries!

- Select fire on weapons. Full auto is for the movies, and only superman could control a 7.62X51 in full auto (ie FN-FAL, HK G3 etc) - I've tried this IRL, you just waste ammo. (South African service weapon was FN-FAL copy prior to current Galil copy)

It's a pity, but whilst the scenery gives it an African feel, it doesn't really feel like Africa - where are all the obvious conflict zone problems, like civilians, displaced populations, hunger, aid workers etc? At the moment, it's like a 'perfect' war zone - no need to ID targets, no friendly fire, no innocents, no total and utter chaos of typical African conflicts...it's like they did 90% of the work needed, then skimped on the last 10%, making the game 80% worse than it could have been...

I find this to be a very excellent game! But, just to put my oar in...

Most of my wish list has been said by others multiple times, so no need to re-kill the cat. I'll pick my two main ones.

1) The weapons degrade too quickly. This is especially noticeable with the dart gun, witch seems to fall apart after 20ish shots (or 1.5ish hours). If I bought a gun new and it rusted and dusted after 1.5 hours, I would want my money back. I would also be a bit creeped out. As it is, I make constant detours to the weapons shop to swap my weapons. It's a time sink.

2) There have been some good suggestions about adding predatory wildlife, and I think this (along with working out some other easy kinks) would make this an epic game. However, it would only add to the game if you only had a very slim possibility of being attacked. If it were possible, even likely, to make it through an entire game without encountering a wild hungry beastie, That would be fine, and realistic. But knowing the possibility of being eaten is there would add very much to the game, and if it ever actually happened to you, it would be more thrilling and devastating. If it were a constant threat, it would change the nature and focus of the game.

Okay, I said I only had two, but I'm gonna add a third.

3) If you swapped out the malaria missions (malaria really detracts from the gameplay) with some fight-along-side missions for the UFLL and APR, you could kill two birds with one stone. Fight-along-side missions would be, for example, joining one side in an ambush against the other, perhaps with special instructions (like taking out a specific target, or planting explosives on a target vehicle, etc.), or escorting a convoy belonging to one side against the other. This way you would get windows of the "civil war" in action without having to entirely gut the current mechanics. And you would get rid of malaria.

Just a small off-topic comment to the above post.

I'm not going to get eaten by ANY predator in Africa...Not so long as I have any kind of weapon in hand...So they had better make them MEAN sons of beasties.

I don't know though, a Lion may take me with a machete.

In all actuality though these predators, if we get any, should definitly be fairly widespread and not so easily angered as most animals of Africa are always quick to run first...But if you do stumble upon them they should be extremely fierce!!

I really like the Malaria issue alternative! Very good suggestion there my friend!

FOR ALL

-More weapons
-being able to add addon's to weapons (front grip, optics)
*just wanted to note how it would be done. First of all you would but the addon for your weapons in the gun store. After you buy the item, you would go into your weapon storage room. And let's pretend that there's a locker in the storage. You'd go to the storage room and you'd press w/e your interact button is. After, a list would come up with the addon's you would want to put on your weapon. After you select them, you exit the "addon selection" screen and vola ! you've got some attachments and ready to rock and more, again.
-more "neutral" AI (really random how i get shot at when i just want to drive -__________-)
-more AI in general (Africa seems a bit "empty")
-More vehicles (ATV's, bikes)
-quicker, and more realistic reloads (example - AR 16. pressing the bolt catch is a whole lot faster then pulling the bolt catch in my POV)
-radio for vehicles (yes it can get a bit lonely and boring driving. maybe some tunes could help)
-changeable clothing (i don't think someone would were the same clothing over and over and over again lol)
-having a second partner
*let me explain, so i understand in Far Cry 2 you already have buddies that help you through out the game. What i mean is someone that's there with you in real time, so when you driving or killing or doing a mission or something, at least you got someone there to help you Big Grin
-longer reliability time (gun tends to get dirty quick)
-proper damage and distance for weapons (im sure getting a head shot with a AR-16 isn't that hard then it seems to me, cause 6-7 bullets does the trick lol)

a couple things

PREDATORS! you don't need to do do environment balancing for them i.e. lions killing gazelles. We don't need to see that, it isn't a nature game, but add predators in so we have another challenge.

Make malaria attacks more infrequent, Im stuck on a part RIGHT b4 a malaria attack and i cant beat it.

Yes make EVERYTHING more destructible. no more running into brick walls when colliding with a small tree or plant with a little bit of a trunk.

Elephants and giraffes. It is horribly disappointing to not see them around. Just make another spine to support them jeez it cant be that hard.

Conflict zones and neutral ai in places elsewhere then scripted attacks and/or the ceasefire zones. I am bored with having to lose my car so i can sneak around a guard post or getting pulverized by a 50 cal turret. 2 shot kill from it! WTF

Thats all fer now

1) I want to kill trees!

The first thing I tried to do in fc2 was destroy some large trees and I was disappointed that they do not die. So like other people have said.

2) I want to be able to walk over small rocks, not get stuck on them, seriously, some of these look like they're only 1.5ft tall and the player cant go over them in various places.

3) the engine revving sound that the enemy cars make is sounds exactly the same every time, so distinct, its stuck in my head, some variation would have been good

4) when two cars collide, nothing much seems to happen. in a real car accident, people are injured and temporarily incapacitated, especially if someone is standing on the rear of a vehicle, id expect them to get thrown off on impact.

[ALL]

Many people are saying the same, I just want to vote for it too:

1) checkpoints, patrol:
It needs to have random respawn time and should be more interesting... what about a jeep convoy heading from fraction HQ or base to the checkpoint after few seconds to few hours depending on how "loud" or "fast" you have been when clearing the checkpoint.

2) add variety to chekpoint and patrol AI
Why EVERYONE is trying to kill me? It would be nice if you can pass some checkpoints when you do not attack first, the other should warn you and ask to turn back before attacking you. Other should try to kill you as it is now.

3) better support for stealth approach
Machette should cause instant silent kill when from behind. It should be possible to clear at least some checkpoints without being noticed.

4) weapons and headshots
Enemies should die immedietly when shout to head.

Many thanks for a beautiful environment you have built for us - it is really stunning. Now please make the gameplay a little bit more interesting; this game can be changed from average to almost perfect if you change just a few things.

I am not the fun of DLC, normally. But this game calls for it. Please make a "mission pack" or whatever you call it and implement all the things you certainly wanted to do but was not able to do in time. I'll buy it :-)

Thanks, David

BIGGEST WANT EVER = FERAL ABILITIES IN FAR CRY 2
(also most unlikely to happen Frown )

more animals, everything else is fine.. unless you feel like sorting the pop in.

but yeah.. doesn't even need to be more TYPES of animals... just more animals in general... I'd played for 10 hours before i saw my first zebra, and thats only cos i'd gotten bored of the story and started driving around doing nothing in random areas.. I really wan animals in map editor more than anything in single player though. thats the main part of far cry games for me..

I couldn't even name you one of the multiplayer maps cos all I do is play created ones.. wait... there's one called far cry isn't there?

@BTOG46:

me likes very much. But - these are all male lions. Usually most lions in a family (proper term?) are females w/o a mane, and they do the hunting. Wink Please tell the devs, alright? Smile

Imo lions aren't too dangerous for armed humans. Elephants are, and hippos are very much. It would be pretty awesome if you'd travel somewhere with a swamp boat and suddenly a hippo would surface below you, throw your boat over and almost kill you (which it would irl). For the sake of gameplay let the player escape to the river side and have him to proceed on foot. Just imagine that huge mouth gaping in front of you ... Eek

A neat idea to avoid the constant shoot-outs at guard posts and to avoid forcing the player to travel all over the map would be to restrict map access by the guard posts and grant the player permits to access new areas of the map as the game progresses. That would make exploration more interesting as you by and by get to see more of the map and give the guard posts more meaning. You could shoot your way through them, but that would turn you into a wanted criminal with every guard post shooting at you. You could also have some underground people show you secret foot paths around guard posts as reward for doing certain missions or so - maybe even add guard posts that you cannot get a pass for. Block those secret passages by fences that open once you have fulfilled the mission or so.

Geez, there's so much you could have made out of this game. Shame on the devs for their immense lack of inspiration. I wonder if after having created the awesome map with all those wonderful little details they were so tired that they just said "Awww the heck, just lets get this out the door somehow." Sad

There is a lot of great ideas in this forum. Some of them seems to be quite a big changes, maybe for future DLC :-). But if developers are listening, PLEASE implement at least the simple ones in a patch! It can make the game so much better.

i've seen this being a problem for many people and now it's just become a problem for me: 60-70% through the game, around 23 hours gameplay and majority of side missions done and the game freezes on loading. fix that!

I definitely think that Malaria should be restricted to the hard game modes. It's just annoying to have this.

The weapons jam far too frequently, please slow down the degradation >Frown

Bring back Jack Carver as a playable character!!

Add a modding SDK for us! Then the community can make this game fit their pleasing Big Grin

Few suggestions for patch or next release.

1. Incorporate coop availability in story play with a difficulty multiplier by team size. Each member can take on a mission while others can join the party for the mission.

2. Manually have to mark map locations with icons and include a filter, instead of scouting one and all showing up. Main reason is that I like being able to mark my own snipe and misc locations.

3. Change arrow on gps to a dot like a real GPS and incorporate a compass so you have to find your bearings. Would make navigation much more interesting.

4. Either allow the the outpost respawn time to be changed to preference or difficulty, or just make it to respawn once you leave current map.

5. Make AI less predictable, not just i see you.. I ram you.. Now im dead because I just made myself a easy target from mounted gun. It's kinda boring when you know exactly how the enemies will react every time.

6. Add more varied vehicles and animals, like carnivores that vary on aggressiveness and territorial.

7. While a full moon is pretty, moon phases should change and night should be alot darker. Maybe add some purchasable equipment like night vision, thermal goggles or flashlights.

8. Add some strategic missions where you have to find out what time a covoy goes by each day and set an ambush for the following day. Basically make the time of day more strategic than just preference.

9. Bullet holes that last more than a second. Blood and gore overall.

10. Make bad guys not have perfect aim when they can't see you. Example, I can't see them, so why can they see me.

11. Fire needs to last longer.

12. Improve Animal AI. Check out youtube and see some examples.

My PC list:

.increase respawn timer for checkpoints

.fix keybinding problems

.Make enemies a wee bit less tough, perhaps compensate with more enemies.

.fix AI so they don't see me and snipe me (Whether with a sniper rifle or shotgun) from hundreds of yards away, through cover.

.add a compass to the map and/or HUD

.For that matter, lower the position of the map when in vehicles, especially in boats. Us PC users have no problem looking down to glance at the mapboard while driving.

.un-mirror the guns so that they're correct in appearance and function.

.fix the audio loops for the automatic guns so the fire rate matches the sound

.drivers of trucks with gunners should have AI modded so they stand off and fire at you, though ramming attempts are often hilarious, it should only be used when you're on foot and in the open.
