heyy i was wondering wat is the difference between far cry 2 and crysis....

Everything. Well I'll try to explain.

FarCry 2 is being developed by Ubisoft and Crysis is being developed by Crytek (who originally made Far Cry 1).

Crysis is similar to Far Cry 1 in it's setting and semi-nonlinear gameplay. Far Cry 2 is pretty much as nonlinear as it gets (you do missions in pretty much any order from any angle) and it is set in Africa.

Crysis has you running around in a nano-suit fighting aliens among other things, so there is a focus on sci-fi. The nanosuit seems to be one of the few truly innovative gameplay features. Far Cry 2 promises to be much more realistic and has loads of nifty gameplay features (eg. dynamic wind, fire, animations integrated into gameplay and ragdoll, 'buddies', smart and flexible AI, and pretty much everything Crysis has as well).

Far Cry 2 will be better . It only takes a quick look to see what the difference is, quicker than it took me to write this post. I hope you read this.

An other difference between the two games is their release date. So you will be able to play a lot of Crysis while you wait for Far Cry 2

I Mainly play FC For its Map Maker/Online play so which ever one offers the best map maker/online play is the one im going to get.

Not really. Crysis is more of a true successor to Far Cry but Crytek forfeited the right to use the name "Far Cry" when they broke away from Ubisoft.

Far Cry 2 is looking to be an amazing title though and I'm really excited to see this finished project (especially as Crysis seems to more hype than I previously believed).

FarCry2 is by far more the sucsessor to FC1. Crytek have already stated that the only thing which resembles FC2 in Crysis is the beautiful landscape. Thats it.
FarCry 2 has the graphics, the non liniar game play, even a similar storyline (1 man vs all... if you forget about these buddies for a second)

I also think Crysis isnt going to be as big a title as some of these Crysis fans think.
If you look around places that arent crysis fan sites you'll see a lot of people not happy with the beta which was released, not just due to babies crying that their fps is bad but people who dont like the generic gameplay, nanosuit, 100xsnipers or machine guns with scopes (GRRRR) or people just mad at EA for trying to take every penny they can for the game by charging for its beta and even delaying the SP demo so they can make even more money!

FarCry 2 has only just been announced. Remember how long it took Crysis to get some hype? I think it only started building up once the first few trailers were bought out, something which we have yet to see (officially) for FarCry2. You wait untill the world has to see what FarCry2 has to offer, we already know from the leaked demo that the graphics are stunning just like crysis, hopefully the gameplay will not follow the same route as crysis and dissapoint.

You seem to be a bit confused. Crysis has all this as well. Additionally, I recently read that in FC2 you will have several characters to choose from. This is not the case with FC1 or Crysis.

Crytek has stated in the past that while Crysis is not FC2, it is a spiritual successor.

This is a poor arguement. Back in the day, we were lucky to even see public betas. There is nothing wrong requiring a FP subscription or a game pre-order to enter a beta. Beta's are meant to fix bugs and various issues with the game. However, the public tends to think that a beta is simply a demo released before the game ships. Because of the poor attitude of consumers regarding betas and lack of true participation (providing worthwhile, constructive feedback), I am against public betas.

Incorrect. The SP demo was delayed for technical reasons. They had to make what is called a milestone in the gaming industry in order to be able release the demo. Unfortunately, they were struggling with making this milestone.

Crysis started getting hype as soon as the CryEngine 2.0 promo vids were shown (no gameplay).

FarCry2 will pick up hype much faster simply due to is well-known, recognizable name.

after watching the 2 demo clips - I think far cry 2 will be much better then crysis can't wait lol

im very much looking forward to crysis, but not half as much as i am to farcry, fire is one of my fave weapons in games like soldiers heroes of ww2, throwing a molotow at one end of a field and taking pot shots at the krauts that suddently decide that tall dry grass probably wasnt the best hiding place anyway ^^ and watch it consume trees and bushes and stuff...

one thing i want to do is shoot a bit with the flame thrower and then take a trip with the hang glider and watch it spread over the savana, possibly throw a few molotows down while im flying, try to hit a few gazellas and such

I've played the Crysis demo, I wasn't that impressed. The only cool thing is the suit, as far as I'm concerned. I really prefer realistic games, so FC2 is definitely what I'm gonna be waiting for.

crysis demo is not even out yet lol the only thing you might have played is MP beta. but still I also prefer realistic games

Are you kidding me--Crysis is Far Cry 2! How can anyone sit around here on this forum without a game in hand to compare the difference between two? I have the Crysis Demo and it kicks butt! And I will buy the offical release this November. I am not going to speculate which game is better until UBI releases its so called FC2. And I will buy that game as well, but in the mean time, what truly can be said on a forum empty handed? It is a total waste of time IMHO. Let the fat lady sing and show me the money! These forums are a bunch of guesses and hot air--I'll be gaming while your still talking. Now if the developers and moderators want to get together for a beer, then count me in as it would be much more enjoyable then sitting here reading this ****.
