he is talking about the respawn timer, you know how you die and either wait for a teamate to heal you and once that timer runs out you must wait for the respawn timer to run out to spawn? some servers will have 0 for that and then some stock with a good mix in between the 2.

Sorry, I don't think that answers my question. I don't see the difference between "spawning time" and "spawning rate". If he didn't have the "(but not spawning rate)", it would mean that you can make a 0, 3 or 5 second or whatever spawning time. But then why does it say "(but not spawning rate)"? If you change the spawning time, you're also changing the rate.

I am glad we can finally get some info out on the Hardcore mode. I will try and get Atmon/Kimi to adjust what is meant by the respawn rate and time but I think it means that the time is takes to respawn can be adjusted but the number of times cannot.

Let me give Atmon/Kimi a poke with my FM stick. Big Grin

The hardcore mode has been designed as an answer to a community request. When designing the multiplayer game our team wanted to provide a balanced experience for most gamers. However some players were seeking and expecting a more realistic experience.

The addition of a “hardcore” setting, available in every game mode, will have many consequences:
A new damage model will be applied with increased damage for all weapons.

All weapons have been rebalanced on normal mode, and on hardcore mode.

Enemy names will disappear after the spawning invincibility period is over (A shield is displayed above a player’s head for a few second to show that he is invincible).

A new option will allow you to tweak spawning time (but not spawning rate).

A new search option will be available in multiplayer to allow you to find games that are playing on hardcore mode.

We hope that you will like the changes our team has implemented to let you enjoy the game, and play it the way you want.

Thanks for your contributions! Wink2

Thanks for discussing the Dedicated Server with us. I really appreciate the time you guys spent giving us new information about the server files you promised us months ago. Again, thank you.

Ubisoft = fail.

i'd like some clarification on this as well... it doesn't make any sense... just what is spawning rate..

Heres an idea to enable no respawns. You said that we will be able to tweak the spawning time but not limit the amount of respawns. Here's a solution. Allow us to set respawn time to 20 minutes or 40 minutes. That gives us no respawns effectively. This should be easily done.

I don't care too much about respawn rate (if we define it as number of respawns allowed) except the ability to turn off respawns altogether; this idea from paladin is the solution, or maybe set respawn timer to 9999 minutes, Here's hoping.

I guess your best wasn't good enough!

This is fantastic news. I hope that the grenade launcher damage has been dramatically reduced under the weapon rebalancing Smile

My only other wish seems forlorn judging from the comments on the Q&A video - allow join of ranked games in progress. It's just too common to end up 8 versus 3 getting absolutely pwned.

Not sure if hardcore fixes any of the annoying issues below, but it sure would be nice.

Host starts game
Most of the time hosts wait forever to start a game which causes all other players to wait for a very long time for each game to start. The host should not be able to have this control. This should be controlled by the system only. If you have to wait for 10 minutes to get into a game you most likely will leave. I usually loose my patience after four matches and that's when I pop in COD.

Host can kick players
Players get kicked most often because they are women or their rank is low. Hosts should not be able to kick other players due to discriminative reasons. Only players who cheat or go against the rules should get kicked (by the system, not the host). Discrimination is a huge issue in gaming and the kick feature just supports it.

Akward Aiming mechanism
Even after adjusting the controller sensitivity to lowest possible you have to yank your gun to turn left or right and often it turns a 180 while doing so. Somebody can be right in front of you but your gun is is moving left and right with some blur effect which makes you feel like a drunk soldier. How can you aim if you are drunk?

Can't keep rank for player matches
User maps are not available in ranked matches. Too bad, because often the user maps are better than the default multiplayer maps.

Can't keep guns for player matches
It is hard enough getting kills with the very first weapons available, especially without upgrades. I worked hard to get the upgrades, just to find out that I can't use them in player matches (WTF?). I now avoid player matches altogether, even though I miss being able to play on those custom maps.

Get kicked after each ranked match
For some strange reason, after each ranked match, you get kicked back to the menu screen. This is rather frustrating. At first I thought it was a server issue, but it happens every time ever since I got the game. Looks like it was programmed that way. Why can't they just run one match after another like in COD?

Hard to get kills
It takes a whole lot of bullets to kill an enemy. Even after pumping at least 50 bullets into a body, the guy is still standing and aiming at you!!!! So what people have started to do it to use grenade launchers (noob tubes) instead. This is very annoying as it makes most matches impossible for real gunners.

Can't create a match with own maps
I'm not able to create a real match with my own maps. I have tried creating matches on my own maps, but after waiting for other players for over half an hour, I assume this is not possible.

Can we expect this patch at the same time as the February 360 patch? Is it the same patch? Is it even coming to 360?

Multiplayer patch... whatever... what multiplayer needs is an auto balance and a form of level balance to keep the teams/matches fair.
But really, Wheres the patch that deals with corrupted saves? Or a real solution to the host kicking anyone on a whim, or even the patch that prevents you from getting a mission complete on the cell tower mission and not get paid.

It would be great to be able to carry more of and both Grenades and Molotovs. In Single player you can upgrade and have around 8 of one and 5 of the other (I think but can't remember the exact figure)

Also you can have the Knife and Small/Medium/Large weapons.

I always thought it really odd in multiplayer that we were restricted so much, I hope Hardcore Mode allows more.

Will the Servers also be going through an overhaul? I think they need fixing up as much as the game does.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Ubi will appreciate this one. Lots of people have given negative responses, even me. Not so much for the Hardcore - I'm dead proud they've added this and I think it'll make FC2 alot more fun.

I've only complained about the release of info or the patch itself because I'm an impatient guy and I asked a simple question hoping for a response and still havent got one I was after. Just a "be patient" and stuff.

I havent even complained about the release altho it is early feb now

I disagree, many of us are playing in public unranked servers where we are able to up everyones rank anyways. I start my server with everyone at rank 19, this way it's an even playing field and we can go right at it!

Sounds great, but is anything being done to fix the single player door bug? I would really like to try Hardcore mode, but I never even got to finish my other game due to this bug.

Hello,
Im stuck on a ufll mission where you have to save a buddy from a room at the back of the **** fight arena. I kill all the guards (even though you dont't have to) but no hand icon appears for me to open the door. I have contacted ubi support but nothing they have advised so far has helped, anyone else have this problem or have a solution ?

I do have the latest patch, I was hoping there would be a fix in patch 1.02 but no luck.

And it looks like there wont be a fix in this patch either.

Thank you.
