A lot of questions have been raised on the forums about a hardcore mode feature. Today we are happy to confirm that you will be able to enjoy this new mode on all platforms with our next wave of patches.

The hardcore mode has been designed as an answer to a community request. When designing the multiplayer game our team wanted to provide a balanced experience for most gamers. However some players were seeking and expecting a more realistic experience.

The addition of a “hardcore” setting, available in every game mode, will have many consequences:
A new damage model will be applied with increased damage for all weapons.

All weapons have been rebalanced on normal mode, and on hardcore mode.

Enemy names will disappear after the spawning invincibility period is over (A shield is displayed above a player’s head for a few second to show that he is invincible).

A new option will allow you to tweak spawning time (but not spawning rate).

A new search option will be available in multiplayer to allow you to find games that are playing on hardcore mode.

Why cant the number of respawns be limited.

Apart from that its a very good addition.

and where are the SERVER Tools?

HC is awesome but no point of having a HC when the servers tools are crap and it just shuts down.
ps my server was running for 18hours without a crash . wow .. 1st time ever.

You know what would be kinda cool, is if this Hardcore mode were an option checkbox for the single-player campaign as well. Enemies do more damage, and you do more damage--very simple.

Does this mean it is pretty safe to say that early Feb is no longer a realistic target date for the 360 version of the patch?. If the patch hasn't been sent to Microsoft for their own testing/certification yet I can't see how the 360 patch will be available by 'early Feb'.

I love how multiplayer is always the only gamemode that gets the fixing. Singleplayer needs to be sorted out, and should be the priority seeing as how it is the singleplayer that is being advertised in the commercials. Not only does it need its saving issues resolved, the whole plot doesn't even make sense when the player doesn't see a civil war going on. Instead of a civil war, it's like the whole country is at war with only the player. And it seems like the country is only populated with men holding guns.

Miracles aside, singleplayer needs a hardcore mode, or realistic mode, also. A game where it does not take 10 rounds to kill an AI wearing nothing but a white t-shirt would be much more enjoyable.

I doubt you even respawn to these... But since you proobably read our Suggestions thread... Heres a Bug that im hoping was fixed: When you destroy a vehicle near its spawn point, they dont respawn Frown

Was it fixed? and do you see their name AT ALL (after invincability runs out)? If it doesn't then good job. Yeah that bug needs to be fixed, it tears the fun out of a game when you have to restart it because the vehicles stopped spawning.

Please for the love of all things holy....Tell the devs to include these changes in the SADS (PC version). I can not stress how important that is. Otherwise we are back to square one. Thanks for the info, sounds like some good stuff.

he is talking about the respawn timer, you know how you die and either wait for a teamate to heal you and once that timer runs out you must wait for the respawn timer to run out to spawn? some servers will have 0 for that and then some stock with a good mix in between the 2.

from what i can tell hardcore mode is the way multi shouldve been set up from the get go. but their also needs to be SP patching involved as well since both the prior patches barely touched SP.

For attentoion of Atmon.

Heres an idea to enable no respawns. You said that we will be able to tweak the spawning time but not limit the amount of respawns. Here's a solution. Allow us to set respawn time to 20 minutes or 40 minutes. That gives us no respawns effectively. This should be easily done.
