Hello there.

Ive just become very interested in FarCry 2. The visuals, the physics.... *gasp* the gameplay stretched over 50km'2...Sexual.

I have a few naggling questions about the AI though. If you guys could answer that would be great.

1. I was watching the video demo of the alpha build and it was just the fact that you need to be constantly moving because the AI is so aggressive - Can you not take cover? Can you not hide? Or will the AI (once alerted)always know where you are and hunt you down?....

2. I noticed the other Merc/buddy and that he helped the guy in the video by giving weapons. I was wondering if he did anything aside from sit up at his perch all day and help the player if they walk by.

Let me explain.

I am a massive fan of STALKER and ClearSky is going to have such Dynamic AI - they will all be doing things. When playing STALKER I would see random and sometimes funny events happening that are unscripted.

Now will these merc guys take up missions like the player does and run off and take out bases when the need takes them? It would be cool to explore the jungle and 2 jeeps fly by you with one driven buy a buddy , the other driven buy a bunch of angry gunmen. Totally random and totally unscripted you would sit there and go "WTF!¬!?" before laughing.

3. The fact that your buddy can bail you out of a firefight was cool... Can you bail them out?

Well thats all i can think of for now... But i had a few more questions im sure. But do you guys know anything more about the AI in the game than me?

1.Yes you can take cover: crouch , prone and you can even pull off a more advanced move to help you get to cover quickly. If you hit crouch while sprinting you will go into a slide, which is handy for ducking into shelter when enemies are lighting up your position.

The enemy Al works with devastating effect, as they can see and hear you-even listening for your weapon reloading. You know you are spotted with a musical cue, as the soundtrack goes from ambient tranquility to up-tempo and ominous.

The enemy is going to track you and follow your path made by walking or while driving threw the tall grass. Its going to be up to you to set traps and stop them. Possibly flank behind them and track the tracker.

2.No real news yet on what exactly the buddies do while your not around. If you run your infamy rating up I guess while your not around they talk trash about you...haha whisper

3.Yes! You will get the chance to bail them out. You will meet potential best virtual friends in a variety of ways, including rescuing one from rotting in a prison cage, or in the middle of a firefight that's likely deadly until you save the day. Their appreciation leads to developing relationships, and the more buddies you unlock, the more can be available to help you out. You need to watch there backs, since if they die, they stay dead.
