The daily drag, checking me e-mail, deleting spam and other random mail chores.

And then, I notice an e-mail from Ubisoft screaming at me "NEW TRAILER!!! THE STORM IS COMING!!! ALSO IN HD!!!"

So I click on the link to the so called "HD trailer" and... to be honest... WTF? What is nonsense?

It's not a trailer, it's a teaser! (the entire e-mail mentions nothing about a teaser)

So please think about this stuff, because the next so called trailer e-mail will end up on the my spam list.

Oh yeah, url's in e-mails... great idea, but be sure to have the HD "trailer" link to the HD "trailer" on the website... not the SD one.

Even though I work for Ubi, I still get the emails. I got the Teaser Trailer one today (Jan 23rd 08)..


Subject said "Far Cry 2: Give in to the beauty of Africa"

Then on an interestingly styled background there is a space for a video. It said...

The SD version of the video will load, as trying to load the HD version via email would take too long for people to see

Just beneath the video, it says

CLICK HERE
TO WATCH THE HD TEASER

So I click on the words "HERE" and I get taken to Far Cry 2 Site and just below that it says "Far Cry 2 Teaser" and a little button that says HD on it. With a small click, I can download a HD version of the trailer shown in the email. A few moments later I have a Higher Definition version of the trailer I had just seen, great!

Hardly what you would call screaming at people hmm? You are correct in saying that the email says nothing about a Teaser. You will also notice it says nothing about "Full Gameplay Video" or something like that. But you are still 100% entitled to your opinion on the matter, hence not locking the thread straight away

Raide the email went out before the website was updated, when I got it only the LP video was available.

Thats probably where the OP is comming from.

HD version is nice, especially the Dogon village..
