I want some clarification on the Far Cry 2 release date. Will it still release in March? Also will it release before the console version?

No, Yes, Maybe, and Yes, Maybe, No, definitely not, possibly and who knows.

The date keeps changing, and will probably change again if any gremlins spring up whilst in Q&A.

I'd imagine the PC version will be out before the console versions, but whether this is true or not is anyone guess - refer to my first paragraph

gamespot says march 25...but who knows...

Release was moved to the 08/09 financial year.

That means it will not be in March as that is in the 07/08 year.

No further clarification to the date has been announced so far.

Here are some PC titles which were to be released in 2008. This list was published on the 16th by "Video Game Blog" (link below). We already know 1 is now wrong. Want to bet how many more will be incorrect!!! Hell....I expected to play FC2 before Fallout 3.

Thanks for linking my blog. Most of those release dates are tentative and are sure to change. It should only be used as a indication of what should be coming out.

The last information I got is that the PS3 and Xbox360 release will be postponed to 08/09 fiscal year and the PC version stays for March. I can be wrong, no mistake about that, but I can also wish that it is March!

Lets see what happens...

I believe that is for August of September . The delay is 5 month .

I'm positive it would be March 2009. Anything before that date could happen but least likely.

In a recent interview on 9Lives.be Far Cry 2's art director Alexandre Anacio says the game is still scheduled for March. The interview is in Dutch but there's a translation available (by jay) on my website.

Thanks very good inteview . I have a confidence of a delay of 5 months, perhaps only is for the console versions.

on gamespot they are saying april 1st

but with that date ...can we believe them??

I would rather Far Cry 2 was released late and correct, than early and full of bugs (unlike a certain operating system that came out last year.....)

So we might not get it this year?

fiscal year 08/09 starts in april 2008 and ends in march 2009. so yeah, theoretically we could get the game in 09.

which I don't hope.
