Good news guys! The game's producer, Louis Pierre Pharand, will be answering your questions LIVE on Eurogamer TODAY!

The Live Text interview will take place at 3.30pm GMT.

For those who aren't familiar, it works like this: you turn up, type your questions and we submit them to the interviewee using magic. If you turn up a bit early, you can submit questions in advance.

Having see the first 9 comments to that announcement, all I can do is wish him luck... Blink

Prone as I am to the more tactical style of play, I was leaning towards asking a question regarding Multiplayer, but as that may have added to the Assault he will come under for information, I have chosen to take the stealthy option and wait for somebody somewhere to tell me how the Fan Day went... ...anybody?

Not sure if this is the proper section but I hope the Ubisoft people see this.

I would like to point out to the developers that almost every firearm I've seen in the gameplay videos has been modeled completely BACKWARDS. From pistols to rifles to SMGs, they have almost all been animated BACKWARDS. Pictures of real guns can prove this and show you what is wrong.

This may seem minor, but it is actually a very obvious and crucial error for a 'realistic' FPS. In a game where you are going to spend almost the entire time holding a gun it shouldn't have such a glaring mistake. To me, a backwards gun in an FPS game is akin to having backwards team logos in a sports game or poorly modeled car in a Gran Turismo game... I'm just saying, a little research should have been done. What good is a trip to Africa to properly model a tree if you can't even get the weapons right?? I hope there is time to fix it before it ships because attention to detail can make-or-break a game.

That aside, thank you, and I'm looking forward to FC2.

I only have 2 questions

  • Why Has Prone Been Left Out ?
  • Why Has Assault Mode (MP) Been Left Out ?

Both of these questions have been avoided so far, I know LP stated a few poor reasons for leaving prone out, but I would like to know the honest real answer...

I wont be able to ask the questions at 3:30 pm as I have to fetch my daughters from school, so if anyone wants to ask them for me ! I would be very much appreciated !

God Save The Queen !

Can we get some more information on the map sharing capabilities? I know it's bieng currently worked on, so nothing is certain at the moment, but some of the more important details would be great, like:

Would you be able to sign in onto the website, and trigger an xbox download of a given map from there (Like Halo 3)?

If so, would you be able to directly link to that given map, allowing external forums to advertise maps, and link to them for download?

Hmmm. So "Uprising" mode sounds like a cross between VIP and Seek & Secure.

quote:
Uprising is mode where one player plays the VIP and the others need to protect him while capturing points. That's the short version. The long one, well, you'll have to play it!

And regarding the PC/console map editors:

quote:
We made one specifically for PC and one for the consoles. It's so different making maps with a mouse & keyboard than it is with a controller.

But still doesn't really specify just HOW different the PC version will be, whether it's just a matter of using the Windows interface with keyboard & mouse, or if will offer mod support.

All in all, a somewhat informative Q&A, although I would have preferred to have seen a few more questions from this thread answered. Many of those questions were softballs that have already been answered multiple times (ie no demos) or obvious (ie Trophies/Achievements).

The larger buildings are not destructible, but some smaller ones are, grass, trees and wooden buildings catch on fire.

My understanding is that if you join a server running a map that you dont have, it will ask you if you want to download the map (atleast it does on xbox360), im not sure where you download that map from though - whether its the server your connected to or a central depository.

Not sure on you're other question, my understanding (and I could be wrong) is that there will be official ubisoft map servers where you can upload your maps to and download from - each user would be allowed 5 maps under their profile.

The map editors offer the same tools/features across all platforms, the only differences between them being the GUI, input devices, and I believe the PC map editor will allow for more content (objects) on the maps.

There is NO mod support, no SDK, no custom objects or textures.

I'd have thought that if you're old enough to buy the game, you're old enough to play it online.

I have a simple question.

We know that the player can shoot branches and leaves off of the trees - but can we destroy the tree trunks like in CRYSIS?

I have yet to see anyone do this in any of the demos. They always just shoot off the limbs, leaves and branches, but not ever the tree trunk.
