I have never played Far Cry before, and I was wondering if I get Far Cry 2 if I am going to be lost in terms of the story mode?

No, Far Cry 2 is a complete new story. So no worries you dont have to have played Far Cry 1.

Hanz_h answered you but I'd like to add a thought...FC1 is a great game and you can get almost anywhere cheaply so with FC2 being months away....you owe it to yourself to play FC1 imo.

I remember an ad-supported version of FC1 being released for free somewhere. You might want to look into that. Really fun game.

To clarify, the add supported version, while still available for DL can no longer be registered or used.

It was a limited time US only offer last year.

Did I imagine it or is FC1 now available on steam?
