I was watching quite a bit of reviews from different websites when i decided farcry 2 would be a great game to play. The question is am i wrong? I have looked at the forums and i notice that the online is not great but is the singleplayer worth it? I like games like fallout 3 because of its exploration, will this game be good for me or is it not worth it?
Thank you guys in advance. |

Check out the discussion here. Its a PS3-oriented one, but a lot of aspects are the same on both platforms, as far as I know. Far Cry 2 is good for exploring, so you would like it in that sense. However, after completing the game, there's no "free-roam" mode like on most sandbox shooters; you'll have to rely on save files instead.

Like anything else, it's a matter of opinion.
I enjoyed the SP campaign. Some people think it's repetitive and the checkpoints are annoying, but I have played it through 3 times now and enjoyed it each time. It's not as involved as Fallout 3, but it is faster-paced. It's not perfect but I personally got my money's worth out of it. It is a shame that Ubisoft didn't support it properly, because it could have been even better. |

- Watch some vids. - Is it good for you or is it not worth it ? Well, it's a matter of personal taste, so only YOU can answer that question. We can only provide you some facts about the game (control, AI, graphics, sound, environments...). - Personally, I'm not interested in Fallout 3 but I really like this game. I'm playing through it for 4th time now. |

Again, that's a matter of opinion. Just like with almost any multiplayer game. There will be lots of people who hate it, and lots of people who love it. Halo, COD4, and Gears of War are perfect examples - tons of people on both sides. The only way to know for sure is to play it yourself and make your own decision. If you're really that unsure, perhaps borrowing or renting a copy would be the best thing. |

fallout 3 is 10 times better.
FC2 isn't really open world there are to many terrain features that block movement you'll have to follow a road there is generally only 2 ways to make it to an objective. re-spawning enemy checkpoints will get annoying quick. The AI is dumb missions get repetitive. not worth it. |

Isn't Fallout 3 an RPG? FC2 is an FPS so not really a fair comp imho. There are plenty of ways in and out of most objectives, with exceptions like the airport, and respaning checkpoints are only a problem if you haven't bothered to look at your map and take another route out. You are never forced to use any road to get an objective. Again look at the map. There are multiple ways; by river, cross country, etc. You can use stealth, at night, and sneak by guard posts quite easily as well. |

-Yeah, comparing an FPS to an RPG doesn't make sense. -I don't think the AI is dumb. Sure they're sometimes act like idiots but generally they're not stupid. Occasinally they even outsmart me. For example, I approached a safehouse, shot 2 guys defending at it. One guy died, the other ran away. I had no clue where he went to, I thought I was safe since I was standing on an elevated point, but suddenly I got shot from behind! -Respawning guys at checkpoints. This issue absolutely doesn't bother me at all. But if you want to avoid the bad guys at the guardpots you jusr clear out, just take other routes out. |
