This question was posted in another thread, and I thought it might be useful to make its own thread since I'm sure the question will come up again. So without ado, here's me!

For the sake of curiosity, could you explain us what is your involvement in the developement of this game kimi_ ?
Some questions to answer would be the following:
1) Are you a level designer, a texturer, something else ?
I'm the Support Coordinator. I sit with a pipeline person behind me, QA person in front of me, and concept artist to my left.
* I'm a direct connection between what the community is talking about, and what the dev team is doing. * I'm responsible for creating (hopefully) fun, interesting content for our dev blog, with the support, interaction, and input from members of the team. * I deal with multiple departments, very heavily with our most excellent community managers, to plan things. * Despite us having a large team, I have to know who does what, who can answer which question, and who is the best person(s) for any dev things I have planned.

2) Did you take courses, have you got a specific formation from UBI or a school ?
My school training is in Information Technology, which is kinda sorta but not really related to what I do now. I have been in quite a few gaming communities for a while now, and through this time I have been (both paid and unpaid): forum moderator, competition admin, community manager, community operations coordinator, writer, interviewer, director, producer, rambo rusher, harasser of CuZ.

3) Describe a typical day at work.
* Arrive at work. Poke Jeff in the shoulder on the way to my desk. Eat an apple. Read/respond to email and check gaming news/forums as I eat my breakfast. * Catch the Europe community manager before he leaves for the day, because it's already late afternoon for him. Ask him what he thinks of doing a community meet and greet at the Game Expo. * Plan out future dev blog videos/text posts/podcasts. Write and/or video tape some content. * Notice that an animator is crawling around on the floor beside me. Grab camera and film him. * Answer any questions on the forum that I can. Oh look, someone asked why Bob is wearing a chartreuse shirt in one of the screenshots. If I don't already know the answer, I may go to the story designer or character artist to find out the answer to the question. * Decided I need some video footage of us doing some non-work things. I know that Mark, Simon, and Gab play foosball in the afternoon, so that afternoon I sneak up on them with the camera and get my footage. * Catch the US community manager as she comes in. It's a bit after lunch for me, but still morning for her. Ask her what she thinks of doing a community meet and greet at the Game Expo. * Look at the latest build. Oh look at the trees now! I wonder what happens if I drive the car off this hill... * Browse the forum again. People are talking about being able to ride ponies in the game. They also want to be able to choose what color pony to ride. Check other forums if lots of people are asking for it. Ask Clint if we have ponies planned in the game.
That's pretty much a typical day. There are other things, but off the top of my head I can't think of examples. And of course, most of my examples are fake. (Us getting to play foosball? Ha! ) :
I hope this gives you a better idea of what I do, and what I'm here for. Good question!
p.s. While I will be around quite often, and here to answer questions, there will be times when I don't and/or can't answer your question. If this occurs please do not fret. Patience dears, all will be revealed in due time.

interesting. It amazes me how much community work is required for games nowadays. I think staying in touch with the community is important and not just leading up to release.
How large is the far cry 2 dev team? Will the PC gamer october edition be the first time we get some new previews/information since the press release?
