To all of you,

We would like to apologize for the server downtime.

It took us time to fix the issue with our data server and meanwhile the issue prevent you from enjoying the map sharing feature of Far Cry 2.

As a way to apologize we decided to increase the map limits that users can share to 20 for all of you.

Once again we are sorry for the inconvenience and we want to thank you for your patience.

Thanks

I have recently got REALY mad figuring UBISOFT has finally thrown in the towel on us from the silence along with the server issues.
I have said some rude things towards UBISOFT(I meant it towards the people making decisions that were not willing to go all the way for FC2 customers).
Sorry to anybody offended who have tried hard to please the FC2 fans.

Thankyou very much for getting the extra map slots to us and fixing the servers.
I figured it was the end for Fc2 and you proved Me wrong Smile Thats good for everybody

Thankyou

I just can almost copy/paste COTABucky reply, with only exception, that I still belive we could got some info that UBI is working on it much sooner than only after they fixed that.
But OK Wink

Great news and I do not feel sorry for one word I said, its great but where was the communication? I hope Ubisoft learned a lesson in that.

Thanks for the 20 slots - that was a very good move. Just keep it that way now, no more preferential treatment to anyone else.

And lastly that small thing about Europe - you know the forgotten part of the World that doesn't seem to matter so much. (PS3 PATCH PLEASE)

We are cut off from the rest of the world with this game, USA and Europe can't join eachother without the patch, Now that isn't fair - I like to kill Americans for Sport in Far Cry 2 (just kidding)

Awesome. I am so psyched to see the map server back.

If there is anything this process proves its that the map editor has earned FC2 a passionate following. Oh, and also that it would be good to give us a heads up.

The increased map limit is great. Thanks.

Also I hope this reinforces for the fans that we should believe that the team behind FC2 cares about its product. Ubisoft corporate might be a different matter, but everyone should be real careful about who they get mad at.

My FC2 Maps, for PS3, all of them optimized for Team Deathmatch:
North-South Crossing (a compact battlefront and a hot combat zone, suitable for all classes)
High Noon (a classic western shoot out in a one horse town... except with assault rifles)
Wasteland Refuge (influenced by Megaton from Fallout 3, a dense collection of buildings with great verticality)
Blitz Creek (a wide open waterway where cars and boats can mix it up, shallow water prevents crouching and firing. pretty much a sniper map)
Siege of Station A21 (yes, a siege: the APR can't get out and the UFLL can't get in, all fire takes place through windows and boarded up doors)
North Quarter (an urban assault with advancing battlefronts)
Secret Valley (a large, detailed city with many secrets to discover)
Custom Mode Beta (I'm trying to create a new game type)
Hate Thy Neighbor (urban battlefront, gang warfare)

I think the actual developers of Far Cry 2 are much worse than Ubisoft Corporate. I was playing yesterday when I headshot someone twice in a row while he was healing himself, he didn't even get hurt, and ends up killing me with the god awful AR15. In another match, I picked up ammo and 2 seconds later it was gone. Support is important, but it doesn't matter when the game's completely shoddy by nature anyway.

Thanks, Atmon, but the servers are still messed up. Now, when we try to delete a published map, it says that it can't, there was an internal error. It's not just me, I was reading another person's post on the same error message. If it matters, I have the PC version.

For some reason I still cannot delete some of my old maps. But it's OK, since I have more map slots now.

Yes yes yes! I don't think this is an unknown issue though. By this time I'm used to feeding loads of bullets into people in hardcore matches (which is either due to my latency or the server's) but I draw the line when it comes to ammo doing crazy sh**. Like I've said before, I've never seen it in another game and it's definitely something that needs to be fixed.

Could you post the wording of the error message you receive?

I've checked with hotlines, and it doesn't seem to affect everyone, so we need to adress your issue. Could you please share details with us. The best way would be via a call to our hotline our an email here. That way we'll be able to focus on your specific problem Happy (the same would apply for you BackForMore666). In fact those forums are not the official support on our products but we'll do our best to adress any issues reported. Smash Happy

Thanks!

Hi, I don't know where to post this and I really wanted to divulge my first map. It's called Tower Attack! and I wanted to ask you if you could download, try it and give some feedback. If you want you can always edit it. Btw, it's for the PS3; you can add me if you want to give some shoot-outs

Thank you! Smile
