Far cry 2 in the beginning was suppossed to be a PC only game, but recently 360 and PS3 versions of the game were announced.

Could I get more of an explanation here? I'm curious as to why you feel this way. As long as all sides get equal resources I don't see it as a problem. I would think that the pc version would get priority anyway.

I don't see how it will make a difference since the already decided. All I really care about is that the PC version does not get compromised/delayed. If that can happen then I have no problem with consoles getting a version but from what I understand....thats not possible. In any case, good..bad..or ugly..I will buy the game.

When devs decide to work on multiple platforms then the game gets completely dampened down. The dampening effect is most notable on the PC versions as us PC users clearly see console UIs and console restricted graphics on a platform unlimited in potential.

This angers me, and other PC users when they declare the game to be released on multiple platforms at once; it instantly says the company is going for a quantity of sales rather than quality, and this translates into more money for the company.

Seems to me that they could have proceeded with developing the PC version first and LATER satisfying their pockets with console versions!

I think it can be done right, but so far we haven't really seen each version optimized for each system. If ubi were to do that I wouldn't mind. Although I don't know chances of that happening.

If the first thing I see after the opening credits when booting up the game is "Press Start/Space to begin"... I'll be sad.

You guys are nuts if you dont want it on the xbox 360!! Farcry is the most awsome game ever made and we deserve to get another one to play! Now as far as the Ps3 goes..i dont think they should get it because they havent had any of them released for sony but xbox deserves it.

Ubi Soft sure likes to lie. They said that UBI wants to be a good company in PC market, but now, it 's all about the money. For sure i'm not going to buy this game at this point mostly because of this decision. I'm tired to be just a pupet in their hands.

I can understand why many people are upset about the Console version of Far Cry 2 being announced. Many see it as Ubisoft abandoning PC users in favor of the Consoles, since Ubisoft traditionally made PC games to start with.

The only problem is that times do change and the console side of things has become far more prominent than the PC side of things. There has been a downturn in PC gaming for a good number of years. Even some of the biggest selling PC games hardly shift the number of units a modest Console game does.

This is such a shame that PC gaming has been falling for a number of years now, such is the popularity of console games.

To say Ubisoft do this for money is partially correct. We are a business and we are in the Publishing and Development side of things in order to make money. Any business that does not make money tends to fail very quickly, but we also publish and develop games that people hopefully want to play.

We want more than just PC users to enjoy Far Cry 2. We don't want those 360 and PS3 owners feeling left out while PC owners get all of the fun. In the end those PC users will be able to spec up their PC and get the game looking stunning, but console owners will not be left out either.

Ubisoft do not really feel it fair that only one group should play a new game, hence the multiformat announcement for Far Cry 2.

As I said earlier, not everyone will be happy with the announcement of Far Cry 2 on PC, 360 and PS3, but there will also be a good amount that welcome the announcement and look forward to playing new games.

The PC version will be the most flexible version due to the nature of PC hardware, but the Console version will be fully featured and above all, full of fun.

If they had been honest right away and said that they were doing a multi-platform development for Dunia and Far Cry 2, I might have given them a chance.

They lied and tried to fool the PC audience once again. They don't deserve my money. PERIOD

Anyway, considering that the console platforms are less capable than modern PCs, especially when one considers their 512 MBs of RAM, my bet is that the devs have optimised the Dunia engine for the Xbox 360 in order to make sure that the game runs acceptably on all platforms.

In other words, what was advertised as a ''PC exclusive'' will more than likely be a CONSOLE TO PC PORT.

This corporation is just a bunch of dumb liars. The hell with them.

Raide, I can see where you are going with this, but honestly I like a good game by all means. I've played on PS1 to PS3, but nothing really kept my playing like the PC did.
Consoles are for week end gamers or guys who donn't want to bother much in virtual reality. And I don't say that because I'm trying to start a fight, 'couse it would be lame, but UBI is not anymore the company who I wanted to be.
Assasin's Creed is yet another game, who was delayed for the PC version.
At this point, the industry needs some balls to keep gameing at higher standards, or eles...well we can all play a dumb game for 12 years old kids, or just go out and have real fun.

Many Developers and Publisher change their mind and make announcements in regard to their up and coming products. To make it out that Ubisoft is the only company that has ever changed their minds, is a little misleading. Gaming has changed over the years and gaming companies have changed over the years as well.

I do fully understand your viewpoint on this matter and I understand that many may not be very happy about Far Cry on Consoles, but things do change.

As long as the PC does not get dumbed down from the console versions I will be happy. But given most multi-platform developing... I will not get my hopes up. What I saw from the demo was amazing and if they are able to pull that off on the consoles as well, that would be fantastic.

True, but most of the people plays on PC if they want something nice. Anyway it's just my humble opinion after I've heard the news.

And yes, consoles are not that great in hardware, but that's not important for most of us.

Be sure that the last of my intent is raising another platform war. I wouldn't care if the consoles were 10 times more powerful than PCs. It's the last of my concerns. On the other hand, you have to agree that for a multi-platform development to be functional, careful attention must be given to the weakest platform, which only results in the strongest platform to not be used to its full potential.

But anyway, all of that was not my point. My point was about TRUTH, FAIRNESS and HONESTY. And there was a total lack of those concepts in the original announcement by UBI many months ago. But don't worry for me; I knew what was coming...

Why the surprise,shock and anger to prerelease info of a game? You'd think this is the first time it has ever happened. What rock have you've all been hidding under? Contracting for the most hated publisher in gaming history...I've seen and heard it all. It happens a lot and right or wrong life goes on. Buy it or don't, complain or don't its your right/choice but to be shocked truely amazes me.

Btw, I don't see it as lying...more as be incorrect or a change in mind. You maybe wondering why I'm giving them the benefit of doubt? Well, I'd consider it lying if we were to find out AFTER they got our money, not before.
