After I close out the game after playing player match, my rank is not saved. Which means my gear upgrades are not saved. Is this a bug? If not, UBI royally screwed up by making it a feature.

Are you stupid, there's a difference between ranked and player. Player is just for fun "once and done." Ranked is cod4-esque "save your rank to gloat."

Considering the manual makes no mention of this "feature," it is a legitimate question, so stuff it.

All games (On 360 at least... Or CoD) do it like that. You should have figured that out a looong time ago :P

Battlefield Bad Company doesn't do that. They let you use the weapons you unlocked in ranked. Ranked is the only way to get weapons unlocked.

This system is in-fact not good. Who wants to join a player match which could end at any time (due to a number of reasons), spend time getting their weapons, and getting them upgraded, and then all the sudden be cut off and have to do it all over again?

It really demotivates me, for one thing, to make any custom maps.

Battlefield Bad Company is well very balanced and the maps are balanced. So glad that the 4 new maps just came out and the PS3 Trophies =)

I only play PC games. So no, I wouldn't know.
Also, COD4 only has ONE way to play (for PC). Yes there is hardcore and normal, but your weapon mods work for both. TwentyThree23 has it right, it is a crappy way to go about it.

Agreed, I pretty much only play custom maps, but i don't want to have to play all night just to unlock a gun... I'd like to have, once unlocked, a full set of weapons to choose from when I ply on mine and others's maps

Just started playing FarCry2 Online.
Got really involved, played for 6 hours one night.
Played the "PLAYER" maps and got to level 10.
Got really annoyed when I went to play the next night and had to start over with Rank 1 - 0 XP.
I've been playing for about 2 weeks none of my ranking in the "PLAYER" maps has been saved yet.
I tried to play "RANKED" maps but got kicked, baned or waited 45min for players to start a match, but it does save my Rank and XP Points.
SO, what is the problem, PB is updated - I also play AA and use the PB Updater from EVENBALANCE.com - Have noticed others with same problem all over this forum, just listed in different ways. Used "rank player saving" for search.

Ok for the noobs in here:

Player matches = NOTHING IS SAVED
The general skill level(i dont mean the number next to your name, but actual ability to kill an opposing player) here is lower than ranked matches.
(These games are for quick drop in drop out play, or to play user created maps. If you're lucky and the host doesn't have mild retardation(or for some other reason unknown to me) the host will set a starting amount of diamonds so you do not have to start off with nothing and be at a disadvantage to other players who have spent longer in the room.)

Ranked matches = ALL STATS SAVED (unless you/the host quit/get DC'd before the game ends)
Typically the skill here of most players is better but there is often a smattering of nubs abroad, so don't be deterred if you get your *** handed to you by a stacked team; just find something with people around your level.

@Maj.Mal-Funkon - If a match is taking 45 mins to start just back out and find a fuller room, in saying that don't join a room and leave after 15 seconds because chances are by the time you find another room the original one may have started.

Alot of hosts use the option to change the starting rank in PLAYER matches so theres no need for this kind of thing and there are decent weapons on the map from the start. It'd be nice if, when joining a match it listed what the starting rank is along with the map, gametype ect. Or even if the time to level up in PLAYER matches was shortened. it already takes ALOT less xp to earn diamonds in player matches, like a couple hundred xp or so, vs ranked matches that are thousands of points between diamonds after like level 4.

host can set starting rank....get good with whatever weapons are available so you dont have to worry about it, and I think you people need to be more respectfull to the people who dont live on farcry 2, when you first played it did you know everything about it?
