To be fair, they said they were "AIMING" for a march release. Realisically I dont think we will see the game before June

Again...why so surprised....is this your first rodeo?. No one asking you to be happy with the delay but this happens a lot (yeah too many times) but you can't do anything about it but sit and wait. Stress is not good for your health!

No mater what reason, to flame and disrespect UBI crew is not a nice thing to do, and well like unure says, this is not our first Rodeo.

But yet, it is very disappointing, I would rather like to be told that the game is to be released December 2008, then send out constant delays for February, March, Early Spring, End Summer...and so on, it is just not nice.

In my case, about Crysis at the beginning I was very excited, but with the constant delays i lost my excitement, and when they finally released the MP Beta, I honestly didn' even feel like testing...I ended up testing it, and it was a big time disappointing...
When it finally came out, was already out of my list of games to buy, just recently I bought it to play with some nice people we have in Crycis Division in TAW, and that was the only reason. I have played the game about 10 times, and now is out of my computer...so much waiting for nothing.

But hey, lets not loose our hope with UBI, after all it was UBI that gave us our loved FarCry...so if it does get delayed yes I will wait and yes I will buy it no mather what.

Be certain that a post in this matter wil not change anything in anyway for anyone. I can understand your eagerness to want to play the game asap but this is not the way to express it.

Everytime you've said something wrong...were you lying? I hope not. Again you have the right to be angry but but unless this the first time you have ever waited for a release then you know that sometimes they are pushed back for many reasons. Do you really think they are all sitting back in their offices laughing about how they fooled you/us...yet again? Please...if thay had everything ironed out and ready then they would launch the game...not until then and knowing for SURE when...isn't always possible so quit saying they are lying and patiently wait like the rest of us. Their purpose is NOT to upset their customers!!

Have you been watching the video's? Ubisoft is developping what seems to be a stunning game at least visually.

So what if the targeted release date is not made? I have been in PC gaming long enough to know that this is a rule rather then an exception. A few of the greatest games ever made have been tormented with delays before they got out.

Ever heard of Halflife 2? It got delayed by a full year.

Ever heard of a company called Blizzard? They take all the time in the world in order to create, polish and perfectionise their games and release killer products.

Please do not act so childish because a game may poosibly be delayed a little.

I do not intend to buy this game. They lost my sale the day they announced it was being developed for consoles -- and subsequent delays. But I don't mind pointing out, to other like-minded individuals, the folly in supporting such a shameless and un-talented developer.

I'm a fan of the original farcy game, that's who I am. I have every right to be displeased with the bungle of this IP. HL2 got delayed because they were victims of a crime, not because they decided to hold back the release date until the xbox port was finished. Blizzard and Valve are much better developers than Ubisoft, if they delay a game it's for a good reason, not because they're trying to cash in off the PS3 and 360.

Fine! Lets take a look at other games (different platforms) that DID NOT meet their 1st announced release date...

The Orange Box
Unreal Tournament 3
Spore
S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl
Supreme Commander
Oblivion
F.E.A.R.
GTA IV

..and so on...and so on. I'd continue but I'm getting finger cramps!

Unure, I can see that you're completely missing the point. Very well then, I shall say it very clearly. Ubisoft is yet delaying this game, again, because they decided to undertake a PS3 port in the eleventh hour.

So Farcry fans, like myself, are forced to wait, while their novice PS3 staff are undertaking a port for the most difficult platform to date.

Why not release the PC version soon, and do a port afterward? Why make us wait so they can cash in on the first week of sales for every platform?

It's a self serving ambition, they don't have the fans at heart, unless their fans are named Bejamin Franklyn and Ulysses S. Grant. It's complete and utter rubbish -- but if you sheeple want to sit here and defend them for their own greed, then by all means, continue to do so.

That not emtirely true and certanly not what I took from the press release which says

Ubisoft sent word today that three (Far Cry 2,Tom Clancy’s EndWar and Brother in Arms: Hell’s Highway) of its major upcoming releases have been delayed to bolster the sales of the newcomer Assassin’s Creed and move the costs inflicted by the release of new titles into fiscal 2008.

So you can't blame it on the ports...and btw, I too posted (and agree with you) if the reason for delaying release was solely due to the porting to console platform then they should release the PC version first. I haven't seen anything offical that the PC version is totally ready to launch. Yes the reason is financial but it is a BUSINESS out to make money (that is what business does) like it or not. Please enlighten me if I missed a official press release the specificly states the porting is the reason for the launch being pushed back. If you can show me that then I'll apologise and stand corrected.

I want the game asap just like you do and I want to know when I will be able to get it but I want it to be the best it can be (unlike Crysis ie.) without bugs, and need for endless patches.

hmm, kids Im a super fan of Far Cry 1 for PC and have been playing it for like 4 years now, what the hell does a release date mean anyway?? all i care about is that Far Cry 2 is coming and that is all i need to know... Far Cry 1 for PC is my favoruite game of all time
