Hi Guys,

Its become obvious that outside of the general feedback/bug report threads, a large number of you want to discuss issues as candidates for patching on the various platforms.

As the Dev Team are still evaluating the reports they have to date, no commitment can be given at this time as to what if anything will be patched, although I am sure that as soon as they are in a position to, the COMDEVS will update you on this.

In the meantime, both to keep the forums tidy and to give UBI chance to guage your opinion on what the most pressing issues are we are opening two threads.

This is the Multiplayer Patch Community Wishlist.

It has a twin thread for Single Player here.

Please use this thread to document for UBI what you believe should be changed, making it clear if your request is for [PC], [360], [PS3] or [ALL]

As is always the case, while they cant guarantee to include specific requests in an eventual patch, they will listen to and consider them.

Please note that existing patch request threads, and any new ones will be closed on an 'as bumped basis'

Small enhancement request for [PC]: A "cancel" button on the loading screen that appears after selecting a server to join. Clicking this would end connection to the server and bring the player back to the browser with his/her list preferences (game type, punkbuster support, etc.) still loaded.

Why?: I've noticed that on some of the servers I join, I get stuck in this "holding pattern" of sorts where my internet connection is flashing away, the hard drive loads the necessary data to start the match, but then nothing happens. The loading screen never goes away. On Windows XP, this requires me to "hard reset" my PC to get out, as Alt-tab or Ctrl-Alt-Del will not get me off of the loading screen. On Vista, I can launch Task Manager and shut down the process. In both cases though, it's a bit of a hassle.

Through further observation and research, I'm fairly certain that this condition occurs when a server is running a custom map that I don't have. Therefore, I'm not expecting a fix for the "symptoms" as described. The "cancel" button would prevent me from having to hard reset the PC or kill the game process get out of this perpetual loading.

The AI is crap too. They make it seems good but its mostly scripted anyways. (making them ALWAYS try to chase you down. Almost ALWAYS seeing from a mile away). Probably cant do much for it anyway.
Except fix the fact that they shoot from any range whenever you get in a vehicle or start fixing one, and as soon as you get out you dont even know where they are because they suddenly stop shooting at you.
Machete isnt a silent kill, and even says 'cut enemies down silently' when talking about it in the instruction manual that came with the game!
Also id like some more objects for the 360 (like lighting fixtures in the pc version).
And that's my wishlist, possibly more to come.

Oh and how could I forget?

Start game by host or when all players ready up, simply because I've gotten stuck in dozens of games where the host doesn't even play, just sits there.

My biggest thing with MP I would like to see fixed is with ranked matches. I have a dedicated server and there is no way to promote or search for a server.

In player matches the server name appears as I set it on the match select screen. On Ranked matches all that shows is the Map name...

It's kind of hard to swallow to pay for servers for this game and not be able to promote your server or have a way to find a certain server in ranked play.

Dedicated Servers

*Seperate downloadable server files. So people can rent dedicated servers from gameserver providers (GSPs) at a reasonable cost. The more of these servers around the better the online experience will be for everyone.

*No ability to designate IP and or port (or at least that I could find).


Server Browser

*Need one centralized server browser showing all game modes, server name, map, ranked/player match, ping, number of players, etc. Also would be nice to see players pings to the server once in-game.

*Actual server name to show up in the server browser in ranked matches instead of just the map name.

General MP

*True widescreen support for 16x10 and 16x9. The whole cropped, zoomed screen makes me feel like I could have a epileptic siezure at any moment. Seriously this is 2008, not 1998.

*Player Matches: Allow the servers to have localized persistent stats (i.e You don't have to rank up everytime you join a Player Match server). Or give the option for the server to unlock all weapons from the get go. This would also be a good way to try out weapons before trying to unlock them in Ranked Mode.

*Ranked Matches: Don't kick everyone from the server at the end of the round. Getting a good game game going is hard enough as it is without having to find a "new" match every 5 minutes. And by a good game I mean finding a group of people in the same server who know wtf is going on and how to play the gamemode.

*Remove the enemy player tags in Ranked Matches. Showing friendly tags is ok but being given away by the big bright red letters above my head when the enemy wouldn't have seen me otherwise is annoying. This is supposed to be Ranked and not for grandmas (no offense to any grandmas that play Wink).


Weapons

-Fix FOV for widesceens pls.
-allow me to fully remap my keys, I have 'e' key re-purposed so if I grab ahold of a fixed gun, even the ones in trucks I can't let them go.
-I like the damage of all the guns but the unlocked sniper, seems a wee bit too powerful.
-fix server browser so you can see server names not just map names (Ranked)...btw we are seeing 5 bux a seat for these things...5x16=80 wowie
-ASSAULT mode pls pls pls
-player matches with the guns you unlocked, come on.
That's the biggies...I'm still liking this game so far.
Oh yeah, How about a way to add clan tags too, had to make a new Ubi account to use my tag in game.

I've posted in the 360 feedback but I'll post my top 10 Multiplayer patch requests here too (in order of importance)

1)Ranks and weapon upgrades not saving for player games (OR someone on here had a good idea to start player games with 3 allocatable diamonds)

2)Cannot pick up dropped weapons or ammunition and a very limited weapon set to begin with

3)No predator or assault game modes

4)Limited options for game customizing, such as starting health adj, weapon limitations, player skins

5)walking speed and vehicle speed too low (increase 25% or allow strafing while sprinting)

6)Vehicle durability too low (they explode when they go off a jump which is half the fun, stall in shallow water)

7)No split screen w/ system link or LIVE

8)No prone

9)Rocket launchers have insufficient splash dmg

10)Remove the blurry vision thing when running/jumping for MP (instead, just have him move slow and sound tired)


I guess your best wasn't good enough!

Xbox 360 fixes:
1. Weapons need to do more damage.(except rockets/snipers)
2. Fix the aiming its awkward it starts of slow then accelerates.
3.Shorten the respawn time to maybe 10 seconds.

Just these three things would make my experience with this game 10x better.

PC Multiplayer

1, I would like to change the rate of fire on my weapons to single shot.

2, I would like the ability to turn off names showing on enemys its to easy.

3, I would like to choose my weapon loadout in unranked servers.

4, The ability to Mod the game.

5, An in game lobby when im waiting to join a server.

6, Optics for all weapons.

7, Claymores.

8, Better Character Graphics.

9, 2 to 3 shots to the body to kill not a whole clip.

Most of these are a must for the life of the game and to be able to match and keep it alive.

BUGS:
1. Your rank does not tranfer to player/private matches

2. After EVERY single ranked match you disconnect and have to look for a new game.


GAMEPLAY ISSUES
1. Damage model is lame and unbalanced. If this is how the developers feel a shooter damage model for a realistic game should be, then... well then just at least create an option for a hardcore mode. This mode shouldn't just increase damage for ALL wepaons, because currently the explosives (grenade launcher, hand grenades, fire etc.) are doing enough damage. The same is true with sniper rifles considering their range. But for assault rifles, sub machine guns, shotguns and pistols it's just too stupid. Please fix this, because I'm sure this issue makes a lot of players cry far beyond what you imagine 2.

2. Controls are really pushing it to be annoying. Even at highest sensitivity you can't turn fast enough. And then suddenly when you get to a certain point the SUPER TURNING SPEED kicks in and screws your controls completely. These controls are sluggish. Go for a more linear control sensitivity, drop the accelration and remove the HUGE deadzone that makes fine tuning your aim a right pain. Try a round of CoD4 and see how console controls are done perfectly. Copy and paste to improve the game a lot.

3. WHY do we just ge assigned a random model for multiplayer? I want to pick my own damn model.

Add stationary Prone position ( without crawl as that would involve a mo-cap session and would take too long )

Add monocular to multiplayer

Set players number 4-16 would be great to up to 24 if possible.

Sway motion to scoped views on weapons

Additional weapon recoil ( optional )

Select weapon rate of fire

Add gametypes - BF2 style control zone gametype and plant bomb gametype.

Additional options for player matches

Damage - Low ( current model ) Medium ( 2-4 hit kills this should be default on ranked as well ) High ( 1-2 hit kills )

Regeneration - On/Off

Red dot over Enemies - On/Off

Unlock all weapons On/Off

Respawns - Off/1/3/5/10/infinite ( off is important )

Kill Cam - On/Off

Selectable camos ( additional less cartoony camos would great as well )

Glad to see one of these threads.

1.) Add one more game mode and call it "Hardcore team deathmatch" or something like that. Make bullet damage stronger, sniper scope sway, removed HUD, etc...As far as Im concerned this is a must.

2.) actaully Id be fine with nothing else being patched as long as a Hardcore type mode is added.

To sum it up. PLEASE add a HARDCORE TYPE game mode.

Player matches can be read as "unranked" matches, because that's exactly what they are... thus keeping your rank makes it 100% pointless...However, the suggestion to start with 3 diamonds (I would say at least 2, but perhaps not 3) would actually be a nice idea to implement Smile

Top feature I would like to see would be the cancel button...so annoying... lol


Also, when it starts the auto cycle for trying to connect to a server, it should NOT try to connect to servers that are marked as "already started". That's just dumb (this is for ranked matches btw).

Other than that...others will post Smile

ALL:

1. Everything CoD 4 has, Hardcore, Free-for-all, Cage match with small maps, create-a-class.

2. the abillity to put villagers in the Map Editor, it will be so cool, so you don't really know who is the enemy, when you make a big town, or just if you want to put them on the road, so they will just walk, they will have their own AI.

PS3:
3.OH! most important! you don't exit the room after each game, you can play in the same room, until there are problems with the host, you are signed out from PS store, or have any other problems.

Hi, I'm sorry to add this post to yet another thread, but there seems to be multiple "official" MP feedback/needed changes threads.

Updated list of needed fixes, 10/24/08, edited 10/25/08, edited 10/26/08, edited 10/27/08 (new comments are prefaced with an *).

I will draw from my previous list, as well as some other suggestions on this thread. But I will be limiting comments to MULTIPLAYER only. The clans I represent here are most interested in the multiplayer aspects of the game.

I. Server browser overhaul
a) Need to be able to see a long detailed list of servers at one time.
b) Need to be able to sort through those servers, sorting by name, ping, mode, ranked or unranked, pb or not, passworded or not, waiting or not, etc.
c) As of today, there are too many connection errors. Hopefully the new PB files take care of the PB disconnects, but there are still a myriad of ambiguous disconnect error messages. (edit -> *10/27: 64 bit users continue to be kicked frequently by PB even when PB is up-to-date. The other frequent error message that we are seeing is "Cannot connect to the server at this time").
d) Ranked servers should have the option to allow people to join at any time. They should also have the option to not allow people to join after the match starts.
e) We need the ability to designate certain servers as 'Favorites.' It would also be nice to have a 'buddy list,' so that we could follow a friend into a game.
f) In the 'Uprising' games, we should have the ability to choose the captain (or, if we don't want to choose, we can set it to the normal default method - random selection)
g) We need the ability to hit 'esc' when a map is loading, and have an easy exit to the main menu. Right now we get locked into the loading screen, which may or may not freeze on up. Sometimes it takes forever to simply exit back to the menu.
h) When we create our own server, we should be able to change all the different options (number of players allowed, etc.)
i) When we create uprising games, in the browser screen, instead of displaying the servers name under the heading 'Server Name' it simply lists the map title.
j) In ranked matches, please change it so that players are not kicked out of the server to the main menu. If a 'map rotation' is set up, it only makes sense to bring them back to the lobby.
k) In the lobby screen, server admins need more abilities than the 'ban' function - we should be able to 'kick,' and to switch people to different teams.
*l) Why can't we play our custom maps on the 'ranked' setting?
*m) When we host a 'player match,' we should have the option, if we so choose, to have everyone start the game with all weapons unlocked (for weapon practice, for map playtesting, for fun, etc.). In other words, err on the side of giving server admins more options. Similarly, give server admins the option to limit certain weapons (like the rocket launcher - helpful for very small custom maps).

II. Things that should be added or changed
a) The ability to go prone. We've heard the arguments why you left this out. However, its simply not acceptable. Make the graphics worse, if you need to, and give us good gameplay.
b) The ability to change your name in game, from something other than your UBI login (with options of different color).
c) Let us choose our own character/avatar instead of assigning it at random.
d) Display player ping while in game
*e) On scoreboard (tab), sort players by points or xp.
*f) In uprising, hitting tab should show you who your team's captain is.
g) The ability to toggle iron-sights
h) Multiple zoom options on AT LEAST the sniper rifles (we're not asking for stronger zoom, simply give us the option to zoom OUT a level).
j) Sounds quality options in the menu (5.1 or headphones, EAX, etc.)
*k) We shouldn't have to log out of our UBI account to get to the 'options' menu. As of right now, I have to hit ESC about five times to be able to get to 'options.'
l) The lack of buildables (walls, towers, and turrets) is very disappointing. Its one of the elements that made FC1 so appealing. Why not include them in this 'advanced' version of the original?
m) We need voice com, of some variety, to use in-game. How are we supposed to communicate? Typing in the heat of battle? Its unrealistic to think that everyone on the team will be in a specific TS or Vent server. We need this as an option if there is going to be ANY sort of effort at team cooperation.
n) The ability to run while strafing (you don't allow us to swivel our head to the right or left while running, so this is necessary).
o) More realism with weapons and run speed. In FC1 you were able to move faster if you had a lighter weapon equipped, while a larger, heavier weapon like a sniper rifle made you move slower. Why was this taken out? Give us the ability to move at different speeds. Similarly, lighter 'classes' should move quicker than more heavily armed classes.
*p) There is too much screen movement/bounce while running. It looks like I'm running during an earthquake, and it makes it very hard to look ahead and see anything. Its beyond realistic. Running in real life doesn't make me queasy and dizzy like that. It should be toned down by around 50%.
q) Please give us assault. If not, please tell us why. Its not a difficult mode to make, you can simply tweak what you have now - and you can rely on the community for the maps. Please. The other modes are O.K., but there is no reason not to give the community the mode that we all fell in love with. Please. As it is, we are all left with the impression that you do not care about multiplayer - that it was simply tacked on at the end without much thought or time spend on it. It would go a far way in reconciling us in this regard, if you were to come out with Assault mode. If you plan to, please let us know that you are working on it so that we don't sell our game in the meantime.

III. Bugs to be fixed
a) At certain times the game locks up when joining a server, at the lobby screen. In the background you can see your guy spawn in - and he moves around when you move, but there is no way to get past the lobby screen in the foreground.
b) You shouldn't be able to see enemies through walls, sheet metal, etc. But often times their name pops up even when they are completely out of sight.
c) The field of view is too small. This is the first FPS I've played where I have to put on my glasses - and I shouldn't have to. And there is a 'tunnel-vision' feeling.
d) I'm not sure how to best explain this, but the weapons are sluggish, almost 'console-feeling.' Their aiming is imprecise compared to other FPS's (I'm not talking about recoil). Part of the problem may be some mouse lag, but its not only mouse lag. Its not smooth, nor crisp. Its clunky. I'm having a hard time describing it, but this is terribly important. It needs to be fixed. Again, FC1 didn't have this problem (and it still had plenty of recoil, and bullet spread, etc.).
e) Alt+tab causes errors.
f) DX10 causes mouse lag.
g) For those with the Steam version of the game, sometimes Shift+tab works in-game, and other times it does not.
h) At times there seems to be a problem with the hitbox. While sniping, once in awhile I would miss completely (like a foot to the right or left of the enemy's head) and it would register as a kill.
*i) Its becoming clear that 64 bit users (including myself) are having problems with PB, even when they are uptodate, and the server is uptodate. The proposed solutions haven't worked, and techs at Punkbuster.com don't seem to know how to fix this.
*j) Let us map the control keys to whatever we want.

Thank you for passing these along to the developers. One final request - there is a lot of disappointment right now amongst your core constituents (even a brief perusal of these and other game site forums will show this). So, whatever you are working on behind the scenes to fix this, please let us know. Let us know which issues you are looking into. This will prevent us from having to continually post the same issues over and over. But most importantly, it will help give us some peace of mind that we were right to purchase this game - that you are taking our concerns seriously. Thank you.

[PC]
-Server browser overhaul, something like that of Call of Duty 4, where you can sort the list, all gametypes are always visible, the name of the server is actually the name the server is given by the host (not the map name)
-weapons to do more damage, save sniper rifles (where one rpg hit actually blows up a car like it does in Singleplayer, and 1 - 3 rounds to the chest from an AR16 will bring an enemy down)
-sway motion on the sniper rifle while in looking through scope
-an option for the host to remove the red label from enemies (or making it so that it is only visible if the enemy is being directly aimed at)
-a prone position would be lovely
-being able to join an game whether it has started or not and for the matches to actually follow map rotation and not automatically end after every round
-picking up enemy weapons (without the weapon flashing like in singleplayer, we don't want to make it easy for them to find the nice unlocked guns)
-increase the range of all guns (reduced effectiveness at longer ranges)
-selectable weapon rate of fire

Love the game though, if it's really patched i think it will grow a nice online community Smile

PC:

1) allow playernames to be changed ingame from the UBi account name. This will help clans.
2) full server command list and example configs so we can limit weapons, shut off respawn timers, change weapon damage, change run speed etc...(mod the server to our liking in unranked mode)
3) one main server list for all gametypes and ranked/unranked matches
4) allow joinng a match in progress in ranked mode
5) if we can't limit or allow all weapons server side in unranked matches, allow the weapons we earn in ranked matches to carry over into unranked.
6) dont kick us out of ranked match servers at the end of a round.

I could rant about imbalanced weapons and ranked servers being inconvienent, but im sure thats already been covered. i want 3 things fixed.

1. random kicks caused by punkbuster
2. "you have disconnected from the host" kicks
3. "your account has been disconnected from the far cry 2 server" kicks.
