Hello all. My name is Justin and I'm new here at this forum. My GamerTag is the same as my forum name here, 'JMCatrow'... so feel free to add me.
Ok. So I'm only about 16% through 'Far Cry 2' at this point and I just ran out of malaria pills for the second time. I went to the Underground location in the center town and the guy gave me papers to take to another Underground location to exchange for pills (im guessing this happens everytime you need pills, cuz its the second time ive had to do it). If you take the bus location to the northeast corner of the map, it's tucked in some hills not far from there. The problem I'm having is that everytime I get there I'll kill all the enemies and the house will unlock, but no one is inside. I thought that maybe he was coming out and fighting also and that I'd mistakenly killed him, so I was careful several times... and that didn't work. I've tried being as stealthy as possible in getting there, but you've got nowhere to go on either side and can't get in there without being seen. I've tried leaving and letting everything respawn... that didn't work... tried going to other Underground locations... that didn't work. The three citizens (I guess that's who they are) in the backroom are there like always and there is a message playing on the TV inside the place that sounds vaguely like it's maybe directing you to another location (message says something about Underground location being raided and people fleeing, Kwami's group or something), but it doesn't mention anything specific and no other location marker appears on the map, plus the yellow Underground mission marker never leaves the spot I'm already at where the guy never shows up.
Does anyone know what to do, what I'm doing wrong, or what, if anything, am I missing? Is this a glitch? If so, what can I do? Thanks in advance for any help.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but when a underground house fails, you allow it to spawn again, and that fails, you're stuck without option. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but with the symptoms you describe, I believe your only option is to use a prior save (you may need to go back more than one) or restart the game.
Yeah I kinda figured it was glitched and that I was screwed. I got the same answer over on the Xbox.com 'FC2' forum... but I had already restarted my game anyway before I got that info. I think I did have some previous saves I coulda worked from, but I was only 16% in and already kinda wanting to restart so I could make better use of my diamonds and pay a bit more attention this time around to who's who and what's what... I was a bit confused at first haha.
Thanks for the info though folks... I appreciate your help! And I haven't tried the multiplayer yet, but if any of you guys are into it (or any other games on my list for that matter), feel free to add me as a friend and let me know when you're gonna play next. My gamertag is "JMCatrow".
I kind of wish that I was in your shoes, being so fresh into FC2 - I've played the game through more times that I can recall (over 10-12) and am still playing from a couple of choice quick saves. This is probably my all time favorite game and just can't put it away!
Rather than start a new thread... Ive done a fair few of the arms dealer missions to unlock new weapons in the first area. Now though every time I go to the weapons store he isnt there. Is this another one of this games endless bugs or do some weapons only become available in the second area? The FAL Para, Carl-G, and AR-16 are the main weapons I'm after.
Yes, those weapons are available in the south. AFTER you completed the first mission there, you can take the arms-dealer missions, like you did in the north.
There are only a few weapons-dealer missions in both the north and south (same thing with the cell-tower missions), maybe 4 or 5 or so, and then he stops showing up. But I had unlocked the paratrooper gun you mentioned long before getting to the south, so maybe something did happen to yours, i dont know. im still waiting on the second two you mentioned to open up though... i've done maybe one weapon-dealer mission in the south so far.
