Is anybody else waiting on the news of another possible piece of DLC for Far Cry 2?

Ubisoft Montreal said that there would be DLC for the game, and almost immediately they released the Fortune Pack.

Many months later, and there has been no word on any new DLC projects, and I'm beginning to wonder whether the Fortune Pack was a quick hit from Ubi to get their promise out the way, and work on different projects.

Well, it's time to make your stand! I need everybody to post their thoughts in this Poll requesting more DLC.

It may seem a little over the top with the choice of answer, but instead of a simple Yes, No, Maybe, I don't care... I wanted to try and fit a reasonable opinion that might reach everyones thoughts out there.

Please answer the Poll, and then justify your answer in a post. If you said Yes, then perhaps you could drop a suggestion or two for the next DLC in your post.

the only DLC ubi should put out for this game should be for the editor, new brushes, objects, walls, ability to place weapons (similar to how they have it in the fortunes pack) new vehicles maybe a zipline feature, ability to "place" water or a water source etc...

making DLC that is new maps is kinda retarded when you think about it, given there are hundreds of new maps every day for free, and some of them are nicer looking then the ubi maps i think they could make alot more money if they made DLC for map makers but that could be unfeasible from a coding aspect i dunno...

More DLC would be good, but that's even more money. I miss the days when consoles were incapable of downloading files, games were a lot more complete then.

I voted sure as long as it doesn't cost too much. I agree with CIB24 100% only I can add that on Skate 2 they have the movie maker, and through download content they added tools for it, so I don't see any reason Ubi couldn't do it with the map maker.

Also I agree with TheSnowDog so if they do release DLC, I hope it's not very expensive.

How about animals like lions and others that attack you and enemies? With new weapons like sleeping darts and online maps with animals.

I love the vehicles in the existing DLC, but only use the weapons when I start a new game. In another DLC, I'd like to see more SP missions because I almost exclusively do SP. Perhaps another couple of SP maps in a new DLC, and for me, some kind of SP map/mission editor. Imagine how you could extend game play with hundreds of gamers creating SP missions and maps.

That would be sweet. Sadly, with Ubisofts doubtful expectations, I wouldn't trust too much in such a great idea that would obviously bring a great ton of money to FC2, and also make it replayable on a whole new level.


But, I would give such a glimmer of hope to the idea that they would include some DLC for the Map Editor, which would be as successful as a Mission Editor, and would bring alot of money and profit to Far Cry 2.

why bother, its a dieing game that is half assed supported by inexperienced developers who dont even play video games and could care less about the community instead to prove how they could care less about the community they pass over some responsibilty to FCMaps.net which is also a dead forum LOL, gotta love these lazy people.

For the love of god we need more weapons! This game begs for an M16 (vietnam era), an M1 garand, a m60, silenced m4 w/ red dot and more. PLEASE make more weapons, i want to play the game again, but with new stuff. Also patch the game so there are not immediate respawns in the outposts, make it at least a full night/day cycle before they do that. Also random patrols in the brush would be cool, as well as predatory animals.

a Vietnam-era M16 would be amazing. More melee weapons would be cool, too, such as a battle axe or something.

So right PZ. I have fond memories of all kinds of SP maps made by fans for Q2, and HL1. many of them were great, and literally added years of SP replayability and enjoyment of those games for me.

Or at least add a local multiplayer mode with bots. The games so dead half the time that I can't even test my maps to see how they play online.

Far cry defintelly needs some dlc. Ubisoft is sitting on a gold mine this game has so much potential that's just not tapped into. These are things far cry could use,

New Weapons

Blowgun- fc1 had them I know we have the dart rifle but the blowgun was fun.
M4 with Grenade Launcher- this and the FN Scar are more modern and FC1 had guns similar to the two.
MP5- unsilenced.
UMP25- we could use more smg's.
Revolver
Glock Auto Pistol
FN Scar Scoped
m85 Barret- bolt action 50 cal

Vehicles

New Boats- the hovercraft from FC1 and the normal speed boat with a turret.
Waverunner- just another watercraft.
Humvee-like in FC1.
Civilian Vehicles- some more sedans or such around would be nice.


Gametypes

VIP/Assassination
Territory battlefield style
Predator- everyone played Inatincts for this bring it back.
Zombies/Infection
Attack and Defend battlefield style
Search and Destroy call of duty style

If they ever work on a 4 player Co-op DLC, that'll bring me back for sure. If you ask me Co-op is the way to go these days if you want to make your game a hit. Just look at Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2 (Nov 17 '09 release) and Borderlands (Oct 20 '09 release).

When a Far Cry 2 COOP Expansion is made, I'm buying without hesitation.

PS: Haven't played Far Cry 2 since 1 month after its release, due to unappealing or average mp experience.

Would also love to see customizable weapons, i mean come on, not every gun is going to have a scope on it, including the ones you pick off dead guys. Id love to see a black market type guy who for diamonds can sell you stuff like scopes, laster sights, grenade launcher attachments, etc and every gun before that is iron sights first. The wooden sniper rifle is one of my fav. and it'd be cool to be able to take off the scope and just try and pop guys like that. Also, it takes waaaay too many bullets to down a guy, a patch could easily fix this.

Sure as long as the price tag isn't to high. I still haven't even been able to play the fortunes pack maps because not enough people have that content/not many people still play this. Bring back predator mode and i'll buy more DLC.

Please make some more DLC. Far Cry 2 is a grand game with beautiful visuals and one of the best map editors, no the best map editor I've ever seen. The game has so much potential but Ubi you have failed to tap into it. The multiplayer is extremely bland and missing what Far Cry 1 had which was Predator mode which made the game incredibly fun. I know you probably get a million emails complaining but get off your butts and just put it in the game already. I know your busy with Assassins Creed 2 and Call of Jaurez and what not but i've been playing Ubi games for a long time now and Far Cry can be your best one yet if you would take the time to listen to what the fans want and fix the game. Give us new weapons, new game types, new vehicles, make our buddies more useful, new items for the map editor, ability to spawn weapons in the editor, heck give us the construction set or what not for Far Cry and we'll make our own dlc just please do it. Im considering selling my copy of Far Cry 2 back to gamestop for extra money since it seems like Activision, Bungie, EA are all doing better then you right now in terms of quality games.

Definately needs more DLC. Weapons on Fortunes look pretty pointless to me.

Weapons:

- Revolver (SAA or something).
- Assault rifle (M16 maybe) with M203 underbarrel grenade launcher.
- Mp5K.

Vehicles:

- M3 halftrack with .50cal
- Light armour like a BMP1 - but might be tricky to do the 1st person views.

Other:

- Give grenades to all classes! Molotovs are turd.
- Make the truck off single player available online. Another vehicle and without having to design one from scratch.
- Fire two handed weapons from the passenger seat in a vehicle.
