2.armed gliders

Not realistic so would be pointless in a game trying to aim for realism.

3.lots of character customization

You'd need to expand on what you mean by that. If you mean you want to customise your character model so you can wear a fetching pair of pink socks, bright yellow lycra pants and chainmail shirt with crocodile dundee hat in MP then there are (from a programming point of view) certain restrictions that may limit available character models (such as not having enough resources to make loads of different customisation options, or netcode optimisation issues). I know WOW supports loads of customisation, but the action isnt as fast as most FPS games - so your system performance may suffer.

4.a system where you can mark maps out of 10
and then you know what map to download.

With regards to SP maps, I guess this is best left to websites that let you download them. With regards to MP maps, maybe a 'popularity' score based on the number of servers running the map may be useful in the ingame 'server list' - however theres no saying FC2 will support a 'map download' feature.

5.replay editor so you can watch the hottest action on the battlefields
Works well in COD4, also useful for catching suspicious players (ie: cheats), however we dont know how well the Dunia game engine performs, so it may not be feasible if the resources required have a negative impact on performance.

7.lots and lots of gore like in soldiers of fortune.
Some countries (ie: Germany) have restictions on gore in computer games. Plus, the amount of gore also affects the age rating of games in certain countries, so making a really gore 18+ game would restrict the amount of sales to that age group (though we both know kids under 18+ have access to 18+ games lol). However, from a marketing point of view, it makes sense to release a product that has the best chance of making most sales and therefore putting more money in your back pocket Smile

Given the stage of development FC2 appears to be in, I doubt any ideas raised on these forums at this point in time would be included as you would usually nail down all the game features (that includes guns for all you gun dreamers!) before starting work on it.

Well, since when did the game aim for realism, Far Cry series never did and it should stay that way.
And the game has a map editor so of course there is a "map download" feature.

I like the armed gliders idea. Not guns but how about dropping molotov cocktails!

Maybe attach molotov cocktails to the wings of the glider and when your over your target you light one up and drop it! With a little practice and determining the direction of the wind you could encircle your enemy in a wall of fire! Clap

Since Clint Hocking (FC2 Creative Director) said so.

I think we're both interpreting 'map download feature' differently.

Are you a console FC gamer? Im assuming you are due to your 'far cry series' reference. I've never played FC on the console, Im from the PC side of the fence - and whilst FC (on the PC) did come with SandBox Editor, the game did not have a "map download" feature (whereby, when connecting to a server running a map you didnt have - it downloaded to your system and then you played it).

but soldier 3 was possibly/is worst game going and the gore isnt in mp play /until someone mods it
invisible pop up enemys anyone

I like the armed gliders idea. Not guns but how about dropping molotov cocktails

but in fc it was . you could drop smoke, flash, nades and shoot whichever weapon you were holding
in mp the same above only the added bonus of dropping demo charges
from what i see the glider will be like fc only to move on and not exactly an attack vehicle ,as canvas v,s hot lead=that scene outa starwars were the ewok nose dives into fluffy worm pulp

umbongo is great and deserve,s a prize for most creative twit going

i'm sorry, i don't like your idears. Espeacially about the gore and the armed gliders. Go play Soldier of Fortune or Gears of war in you want gore, but Far Cry 2 is not supposed to be gory, its supposed to be realistic.
Armed Gliders is also pretty unrealistic. You could do it in real time, but it would be useless.

people said that the gore in SOF was used so much that after a while it wasn't that amazing

If you trust in yourself...
and believe in your dreams...
and follow your star...

your'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.

You can throw grenades from the glider, the Far Cry games were the best multiplayer games ever and thet were not realistic so why now, FPS are played on a screen so it never will be realistic, and if you try too hard you will get a boring shooter like GRAW or Rainbow 6 and they are still NOT realistic.
