They wont charge for the title update. I think the author of the article is just fed up like the rest of us and venting there.

In fact for the 360 you cant charge for a title update. For title updates when you put your disc in you will get a message that there is an update asks if you want to download it....no charges....in fact if you choose not to install a title update when prompted you are allowed to play the game without the update but you are disconnected from live and are only allowed to play offline.

The thing thats funny but not really is,Its taking so long that people are actually questioning if they will have to pay for it or not.

Maybe UBISOft thinks we will actually start donating money for what we consider a needy cause?
A little extra revenue from any angle they can get?

I'm still pi$$ed about that 1st DLC they tried to push on us and even teasing us with the 4 wheeler and unimog type truck that they quietly didn't include for us map makers to use.
What I would do to get those 2 vehicles in the editor!!
Anyways all we can do is wait and wait some more I guess.

By the way, what are the leaders boards? Are they something in MP mode?

I request you give a patch to turn off the malaria effects on the screen. Besides being absolutely annoying, it gives me a migraine. Others have posted in the forum that it gives them motion sickness. This is a fine game and it can be greatly improved by just turning off an unwanted annoyance.

Wow! Looks like I can un-install Far Cry after playing the game through 18 more times, and re-install the game on the PS3.

I wanna ask something. I see that the next patch is a Title update. So I ask, what is the difference between A normal patch and a title update?? What Atmon means when he said that soon they will release a title update?? is it some kind of a really big patch?

Obviusly I dont speak english very good, so, somethings that they write I cant understand.

Ive been silently watching the threads about the far cry patch for all formats for months and ive got to say that even though the game is pretty good it lacks the support from the creators.
the information regarding patches and so forth is very sketchy. there is very little information given.
No dates or estimated dates, no questions answered,and no support.

i purchased this game on release as i was a massive fan of the original.then i was affected by the save game bug. lol 6 months later no fix.

couldnt ubi just have released small patches over the period of the 6 months rather than making the community of farcry dissapear.

this game could have been so much more but now there is very little people playing online. maybe the community would have been more active on the game if a series of patches were released over the past 6 months.

but i probably speak for most people on here when i say Is to much to ask for regular information on the progress of the patch.

i however will be sticking around as this is a fantastic game and im hoping once the patch is FINALLY released that many people will be coming back.

Yes you are really right,Far Cry 2 are one of best games i've be benn seen ever..And yes,UBI please do something about this patch to be released in near future.I know that development's work are HARD...Just Hurry Up UBI team!!!!!

That's a good question, I looked around online and found a couple different places that explained (at least in regards to the Xbox 360)... if I understand this right, a "patch" needs to be approved by MS.

However a "Title Update" doesn't have to be approved by MS. So as soon as UbiSoft has completed it - it should become instantly available (interesting).


...some users in another forum have speculated that, at least for the Xbox 360 version of the game, UbiSoft was waiting for MS certification of the title update. But if title updates, unlike patches, don't have to be certified by MS - then UbiSoft must still be working on it (and not just waiting around for approval or something).

Conclusion: Ubisoft isn't close to completion.

Easter as well, so nothing is going to be announced till Tuesday at the earliest.

I don't think they really care though, its us idiots that keep on buying there titles... I'm not going to buy FC3 though until I've played it.. so they had better bring out a demo this time... I wonder if the sales would have been as good if they released a demo for FC2... not daft are they !
