In various gaming articles Ubisoft has announced that they are releasing a map maker for Far Cry 2 and some modding tools, but NOT and SDK (Software Development Kit). This is VERY important for modders and if not included, it will kill the mod scene for Far Cry 2.
This petition aims to encourage Ubisoft to include an SDK with Far Cry 2

We don't demand that it be done by release, but we hope that one will eventually be released.

Petition:
We, the undersigned, call on Ubisoft to make and release a Software Development Kit before, on or after the said release date of Far Cry 2.

Maybe they should just release it to a few teams that have a set proposal for what they want to do with it... coz we all know what bad people can do when they have the SDK

Imho it's really important that poeple express how much they want this to happen.

An SDK could enhance replayability greatly, which in turn will make Far Cry 2 stick along much longer in the gaming community.

Although I am not a modder myself I have enjoyed playing loads of mods both in Far Cry 1 as well as other games. Hopefully Far Cry 2 will allow us to do the same.

A nice way to outsmart them would be to include in the DVD-package a pair of ir-led glasses,for use with a nintendo wii-remote,to give a true 3D game experience,

and holy craapp, that Head tracking stuff was AMAZING!

How come nintendo didn't think of that when they released Wii??.. the console would've made ten times more ruckus than it did..

The amount of signatures is still far lower then it could and should be. It needs some spamming across forums of big gaming sites, mod sites, etc etc.

Maybe we should ignore this for now and wait until closer to the game. As said before, if the game is still due at the back end of this year, they wont commit to any information about an SDK release if was 40 votes or 4000 votes.

We can stamp up and down, throw the toys out of the pram, threaten to boycott the game, the fact is they have an agenda for information releases and dates when they release that information and there aint anything we can do, but sit an wait.

So, I for one will check back into the forums August/September time and see if anything has changed then.

Thats where you will generate more interest in this, general gamers like to play with the end product but you need to make the modding community aware...
