was doing 1 on 1's and happened to run into someone I played with on JSF.

We thought we'd do a test.

Recruit CV drones (all upgrades to that level) vs Recruit Gunship (all upgrades to that level)

He got his gunships to attack the drones. The drones shred him to pieces quickly.

Regular CV Drones Vs Recruit Gunships. His gun ships beat the drones without so much as losing shields.

We couldn't test any further but that is beyond wrong I think.

Thoughts?

I'm assuming you did the regular cv first?

also,
1. did you have the fight in the same place
2. did you have the gunships attack the drones, or the drones attack the gunships, or both of them attack each other
3. why did you do this in ToW instead of skirmish

1. Same place.
2. Drones attack the gunships and gunships attack teh drones.
3. Opportunity presented itself. Skirmish you can't really tell what upgrades are bought. Hardened units don't have the highest upgrades for hardened for example. Good point though> It would be easy to test in skirmish, but this was better because we both knew what upgrades we had purchased

What actually happened while they were fighting was interesting too. The gun ship kept backing away, so it was always out of range of the drones. THat is why they won of course.

Two different matches. Sorry. Didn't bother to mention that. THere was no one around playing.

You made a good point there, euro CV drones need to be right on an enemy's *** to do any damage, and they should be given a slight range increase to stop gunships from backing up all the time. Or if you don't want to do that then how about giving the euro drones a light sheild or make them slightly faster so they can be as threatening as the other factions' drones in a different way.
I mean let's face it, the UAV is more effective against gunships than the drones.
