Welcome to Myst and to our hints forum! We love helping people out with the games here, so if you have questions you're in the right place http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I don't know anything about how to use the hints provided with the game, but feel free to ask for hints here on this forum. That's what we do here -- give people hints for the game.

I haven't played the 10th anniversary edition, myself, so I'm not 100% sure what's showing at the bottom of your screen, but if you describe them maybe we can help you out with that (either that or someone who has played it will come along and tell you what's what).

As far as what you should be doing -- explore, examine, take notes and make connections. Touch everything. See what it does, what you can do with it, and what effect it has on other things. Read all the books you can find in the Library -- it's time consuming, but you'll get a lot of preliminary information that way, and you'll feel more oriented to your situation afterwards.

Sorry I can't be more helpful to you right off the bat -- if you have any more specific questions, feel free to ask them. Above all, take your time and enjoy the game!

I.m new to myst too I finished uru, 2 questions: the note outside on myst island said to set the machine in side to the number of switches on the machine inside, I looked at the machine and theres the setting for year, date, some no., month
need some help; what books should/can be read in the library.

The machine where you can load the date and time is a different machine than the one you read about in the note. Re-read the note to see if you can figure out where you're supposed to be looking for the imager. I think there are 5 books you can read in the library. Read them all. Cover to cover. Take notes if you like. Come back later and read them again as you need to. Well, except the one with all the squares in it -- you don't need to read that one cover to cover http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif.

You will find a hint on how to set the machine with the clock and calendar a bit later on. Leave it for now.

At the moment, concentrate on finding the 'imager', and retrieving the message from Atrus.

The library will lead you to that answer (and a few others, as well). Have you figured out what everything in the library is for? And I do mean everything :)

Hope that helps :)
