In the book you can see how to prepare the parts
on the bottom of the elevator.
Outside the maintower you have to light a lamp on the tower.

The elevator is broken and needs to be fixed. You will find missing pages to the journal you have and you will get the info you need to fix it from there.

Please note that the "Outside the maintower..." part is not related to turning the elevator. It refers to something else.

To light the lamp on the tower you can go outside from the top of the maintower.

I moved the parts and the door is still locked up top. What am I doing wrong? I read tyhe other posts saying to fix the elavator parts and I have done that....weird

On top you see through the doorwindow a light.
To enter the lab you have to lightning this lamp.

You have to make sure that it is done exactly like the book. The ones that seem to give the most problems is the big wheel with the knobs on the end that you can flip back and forth. The pedulem has more positions that it will first appear.

I dont recall having to do anything with a lamp to get through the elevator?!?!
