Hi all, Does any of u think the balance of the MP aspect of PT could be a little unbalanced?. i mean i would hate to think that every1 would always refuse to be merc for example or the other way around.

I think that most people would rather play as the spies, but I will take equal time on both sides. I think that most people think it's more fun to be the one doing the sneaking around than the one actually looking for the person that is sneaking around because of the fact that we've all been on the side of the merc before in other games like Rainbow Six 3, but we have never had the opportunity to be the stealthy spy in mulitplayer. On my server I plan on giving each team an equal chance to be on both sides (spy and merc) before switching to another map.

Great idea Johnsta, I love the idea of a Spy though. Everyone who played Splinter Cell and beat it over and over again will not want to change that routine. I think switching people around on the server will be a great thing to do.

thing is i know alot of people are turned off by sneaking/3rd person games. There's a lot of gamers stuck in their FPS ways so maybe we could fill all the merc slots up with die hard fraggers. Im probably gonna play both equally as much, i'll go with whatever im good with.
I know the more i play the Mercs, the more i'll understand their abilities and limitations and the better i'll be able to sneak up behind them and zap 'em when im on the other team http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Spy's have limited respawns, Mercs have unlimited respawns.

Well, That's ******ed.
The number of respawns should be customizable.

Both teams have limited respawns it depends on what the server sets it too...where did you find out that mercs have unlimited..or is that waht you are going to set your server too

But spies have an advantage on the mercs.

I'd actually enjoy playing a Merc. It'd actually give quite a rush to hunt down the spies.. having them sneak around and all that bizznas. People actually might prefer playing as merc due to the fact of all the single player they've played in the original SC and PT. Anyhow.. Equal time sounds fair.

If you have played Thievery, you will know that most players will prefer to play spies... But guarding is actually fun. Having to outsmart the thieves, but figuring where they will be makes guarding fun, and you get annoyed thieves.http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
I personally like guarding a round, and thieving a round. As long as they've implented a smart team balancing/changing system this shouldn't become a problem. (Cept some players may be annoyed by having to guard...)
