View Full Version : Ok... How about a patch to the latest EXE for the original demo?

Since news is basically saying that the 3rd demo is postponed indefinetly....
How about a patch to the original Demo with all the "fixes" that went into the Gold version?
I still can't set Textures above "Medium" without the game locking up.... no matter which ATi Drivers I've used... 3.9's through 4.3's. Everything else runs at max just fine.
Gonna be a little dissapointed if/when I buy the game and that's not fixed.

what will textures add exactly? anyone know? Please don't say more 'realistic'...way to general, is it like more surface detail on surfaces? or what?

Basically the quality, or resolution of the textures used in the game, with higher res/better quality ones making the game look better obviously http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

EVERYTHING looks fine to me. BUT ! i need to change the resolution from 1600x1200 to 1024x768, and turn back originaly to 1600x1200.
aa= 6x and anisotropic filtering= application.
This games will be awesome !

Higher res textures have more detail and are "crisper".
As far as others running everything maxxed fine on ATi cards... I'm aware of that.
A lot of us either get "graphics glitches" or "Game locking up XP hard" with certain settings, no matter which set of ATi Drivers we use. There's an interview with the Far Cry devs that says they fixed and polished alot between the original demo and Gold version.

It's in production I guess by now, they said their making a patch already... and you want them to work on a patch for the demo? LOL.ROFL.
