Loading Lockup

Im not getting the reboot one like ive been seeing on these forums. I get a lockup right at the beginning of the loading screen. Someone said it was the sound card? but i didnt have the same sound card as the people with the problem. The odd thing is, it worked like the first week i dled the demo (i got it when it was released) then it just stopped working. Im not sure if its my vid card drivers or something, but i heard 3.9's work well? should i try downgrading to those? My specs are:

P4 2.8 Ghz
Abit IS7 (onboard sound)
512 MB pc 3200 DDR Ram
Radeon 9800 pro

well i dont know what could be the prob bu tdont downgrade... newer driver got the old fixes.... so if u have 4.2 stay with those, i got those
