Well yes I'd assume that too. But from the video she seems very french.

EMS, my guess would be that Yeesha (Juliette Gosselin) is Canadian, since Sirrus and Achenar is played by Canadian actors, and since it's a Canadian game. I really don't think she'll have french accent. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Perhaps you should be made aware that UBI is a french games company, whose north american headquarters is in Montreal which is about as french a place as you can find in north america in the province of quebec (the predominantly french speaking province).

Now, I don't know if perhaps I'm misinterpreting your post, or if you actually wrote what you did...

However I would say it is unlikely for her character to have an accent as sirrus and achenar and atrus all do not have accents (at least traditionaly). But because the company and actors are canadian is not really a good basis for your argument.

Hi all,

Just for the record, not everyone in Canada who speaks French has a French accent. Many of us are fluent in both languages and have no "French" accent at all. I still think you didn't get my post right. I know they speak both English AND French in Canada (flawless English and flawless French, like Cierdwyn wrote). The point was that EMS thougt that Juliette Gosselin (Yeesha) was French just because she spoke French, but i guessed she was from Canada - 'cause it's a Canadian game - and could speak BOTH French and English. (English with a non-French accent). If you check out the official website, the Yeesha page features a small snippet of Yeesha saying something (I think it's something along the lines of, "today my dad took me to Selenia"). It was in perfectly good english...

You were probably in Quebec at the time - though northern New Brunswick has a large French language population, too. Although a large portion of NB'ers speak something we call Franglais - which is an amazing combination of french and english mixed together. It's truly something special to hear that perfect mixture of french and english words combined in conversation - very impressive.
