Saving progress during gameplay

( Hope this isn't already posted..)

I haven't spent very long playing this demo but when I get wasted (regular occurance..) I get put to a screen that has a LOAD SAVE GAME bar, which, if I click on it.. presumably saves the game-to-date.. But doesn't seem to..
Maybe you reach certain waypoints and they are recorded.. maybe..

Anybody able to enlighten this muddled one ??

Perhaps I haven't read all the instructions..

It has save points... No Custom Saving
