10th Anniversary DVD for Riven won't play after install

Hello...
Have a new laptop:
P4 2.8GHz
512 Ram
ATI 9000IGP Mobility Radeon
XP Home
DVD/CD-RW

Just bought the 10th anniversary set. Played and beat Myst.

Now I've installed Riven and it won't play. Gives me the title screen only when I d-click the DVD. Does nothing from the Start menu.

Went to Microsoft, and the last Version of Direct X they have is from July 2003.

Why can't I play the disc (which is clean, BTW), and on another note, why can't I register this set on your site...is it Myst Trilogy? Tried to register that, and I got a bad link after inputing the required info.

I don't have any personal experience with the DVD yet, but perhaps can guide you toward a couple of threads in this forum that addressed what appears to be your dilemma:

BTW, you might try registering later. The link may be fixed then.

From what I understand, many are having problems with that version of Riven. Good Luck!

Here's what the UBISoft Techs suggest for running Riven on an XP (it worked for me):

Navigate to the main game directory (where the game was installed). Find the main game executable file (ending in .exe if you have extentions turned on) and right click on it. Choose "Properties" and then click on "Compatibility". Check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" box, then select Windows 98/ME and click Apply.
