I got an idea that will make you historical in IL-2 movie making.
I want to do it myself but one needs to have alot of time.
It's tedious.
The movie can then later be used in other movies.
Here's the idea.
Use one camera with a good view where u can see the sunset and sunrise. Preferably with some mountain and maybe a lake.
Set time to 12:00 noon.
Take one picture (one frame).
Set time to 12:01.
Take one picture (one frame).
Set time to 12:02.
Take one picture (one frame).
......
Do this for a 24 hours period.
Compile it to a movie with 60*12 frames.
U get the idea. It's not historical and no planes or anything BUT u will be the first doing this traditionally type of time-telling movie.
And it can be used in other movies to show how time goes by.
Interested??

hi vengeanze,
before game-grafics advanced in a way to be considerable for use in videp-clips, i tried to do an animation in a fotorealistic 3d-landscape renderer. i gave up after some days, when my 233 mhz-cpu that time started cooking at frame 357 :-)
anyway, to your idea:
perhaps a 8-times-accelerated scene recorded at 12fps will do, then "process every 3rd frame" in virtualdub (any framerate) and "convert" the timecode of the resulting video to 30fps in a following edit.
(hm, is that calculation ok... i ak myself?)

I get a feeling you will try it. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Hey I-16 you may have to wait to wait until the free add-on comes out. But "Schweinfort(Sp?)" would be really cool or you could call it "Black Friday". WHat do you think? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I would love to see a movie of a stuka dive bomb mission. These missions in game are so good. At night or in the day a great big show off what this sim can do http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You may be right, I know it was Black something or other. LOL I should have looked it up before I opened up my yap. Oh well I know it was the Schwienfort raid and it was October 1943 and 69 bombers were lost. Would make a great movie IMO.

Hey, I got an Idea. Why don't you make a movie about the german kamakaze pilots that would intentionally crash thier planes into enemy bombers? I got the idea from the history channel when they did a program on the subject. It could have an overall somber mood and you can have a vengreful russian pilot shooting at the canopy of his parachuting enemy.

I'd like to see a movie with some great crash-landings. Whether it be AI, Multi-Player, or you. With wings off, engines on fire, leaks all over the plane, pilotless planes, and so on so forth. Please!

Mustang, are you referring to the use of the piloted version of the V-1? If it was, I don't remember it actually being carried out due to the inevitable defeat.

Boosch--I had been thinking about Operation Citadel in both a coop mission and a virtual movie, but both would likely bring tremendous lag. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
Both excellent ideas though...

Yeah, the piloted versions of the V-1's only got to the testing phase and then got scraped. But in the last days of the war (April 7th, 1945 to be exact.) "Operation Werewolf", also called "The Last Flight of the Luftwaffe", was put into action. An early wave of ME-262's would attack the bomber formations and purposely divert most the escorting fighters leaving them open for raming attacks by Bf-109's and FW-190's. But the attack was too small to have had a large effect. All this was too little too late. There was no second Operation Werewolf.

How about the initial German strike in Russia.
The first big Blitz of Russian A/C in the air and on the ground, to start operation Barbarossa!
that would rock.

Midway or Operation Barbarossa. I'm waiting for a ground or sea battle to be made in FB or ACE. Maybe one or two planes at the most, just coordinate a large infantry battle and record that.
