I have an FX5900 and I've got some issues..

1) Ever since getting the game, the sprites in the distance have never, ever for once blended back into the fog. It looks terrible. Are there any settings to correct this? I've tried different driver revisions and I was hoping the 1.2 patch would fix this. The game's still fun, but seeing all of these dark tree sprites popping up all over the place (or remaining stationary) in the distance is really annoying.

As far as I know, it was a Cryengine issue with the Geforces and I was hoping for it to be gone by the 1.2 patch.

2) Ok my second issue - search around for "thedudemanguy" and you'll see that he's been able to enable displacement mapping with PS 2.0 capable cards in the Sandbox editor. He made a testmap for download.

The problem is, in the mods forum I went to the thread and downloaded the testmap. The textures don't look 3d, they look like a normal flat texture, as all the other platforms do. Why is it not working?

I was told to get PS 2.0 working with Far Cry, I'd have to delete the Shaders1.pak file, which I did. It made a lot of surfaces look more clear and shiny after doing that, so it did make a difference.

Why would the displacement mapping not work then?

Really annoyed by both these issues. :\

The new WHQL'ed v61.76 ForceWare drivers work absolutely perfectly for me and the fogging works perfectly. I have a GeForce FX 5900XT.

I was using v56.64 drivers and had this problem. Reverting to v53.04 solved it!
