Whenever i'm proned and moving in any direction i've noticed that the ground kind of jumps every couple of seconds. Its as if its skipping a few frames or something and it happens constantly but ONLY when proned. Moving while crouched or standing up is just fine. It also only seems to happen in outdoor areas.
Does anyone else have this problem or know what could be causing it or how it could be fixed? I'm running the game with all settings at very high, aniso 1, no AA. No other programs are running in the background. Thanks.

Maybe it is normal, I just didn't know. Perhaps its something that will be fixed in an upcoming patch. The funny thing is though that i don't remember noticing it in the demo or before i patched to 1.1.

I just took a closer look at it and to me it looks like the ground textures are adjusting position. So you/me/the player aren't moving in a shocky way, it's the ground that is actually moving... Don't know about the influence of the path because I immediately patched it to 1.1 before starting to play.

When stnading up or even crouching only a small section of your body is touching the ground, so collision detection between you can the terrain is fairly eacy. When prone a much larger section of you is touching the ground, and unlike a like body in real life your model/hitboxes in Far Cry won't mould to the shape of the terrain. I saw the jumping, and have in fact seen it on every game i've played that allows you to go prone and doesn't have absolutely flat terrain. I'm guessing it's the machine trying to work out the interestion problems between you and the terrain and suddenly realising you should be somewhere other than where you are to prevent collision.
Just a guess tho. I hvae no expertise in this area, but this explanation makes sense to me.

Is there anyone out there who this does NOT happen to? Also is there a way to uninstall the patch without unintstalling the whole game? I want to see if it was my imagination or if it really did start after i patched.

Yes, this happens to me, too. It seems to be even worse on really uneven ground. I got hung on a little ridge once and actually stood up (without my doing anything) when I went over a big crest on a ridge. I immediately was seen by the mercs and dispatched. I agree with KingGings analysis... I think it's got to do with the interaction of the player model and the terrain model.

The flesh... all too fragile, doth wilt and wither then release from every tendon, and slowly return from whence it was gathered... creating for every worm and maggot a banquet... a veritable feast!

My little boy stutters when I let him get at my whisky. Could it be related?
