Melee attack?

I don't know how the PC Rainbow Six games did it, but I hope that Ubisoft adds some sort of close range/melee attack. It could be the butt of one of your guns or a knife. I don't think a knife would be hard to model and animate (a simple back and forth slashing animation would do) by the time the game is released but it would seriously help for those rare times you're playing Elite and have run out of ammo and only have one, half-dead terrorist in your way to victory. The knife doesn't have to be some uber weapon like it's become in CS (although neck and head slashes should be one-hit-kills), but it'd be great for conserving ammo and would give players a fighting chance if they went Rambo earlier in the level. Any comments or views are welcome as I'm interested to hear what other players would think about such an addition.

so far, the screens have showed that you carry atleast 10 magazines.


compared to the previous R6 games that had only 6

plenty to go around? eliminates the point of melees

Try playing Elite level on the demo sometime. You will run out of ammo at least one time through.

Ye, I was out of ammo and all my team were "incapacitated". I didn't know what to do!! I ran at them shouting abuse and throwing harsh language and they took me down../i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Personally, I really hate knives in video games, not only is it a brutal weapon, but it can also look very cheesy. And a real life counter-terror operative would never charge an armed terrorist with a knife. (at least I hope not /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif )

i finished elite with a clip left and no teammates incapacitated...i was happy happy

also...swat isnt Live...so i wont buy it...may get a rent though

I've just finished reading Rainbow Six for the third time, so i'd like to throw my $ 0.02 in and say that Oso "Bear" Vega did rappel thru a window and intro a terro to said melee attack. If its in the book, why not?? IMHO, I would not like to see a knife added into this game series, although, even a baton or tazer would keep the game realistic.

i was talking to a buddy, and he said(in the demo)if you run out of ammo and you get close to a guy and pull the trigger you hit them...doesnt kill them, but knocks them back

i havent tried it yet, he just told me today sooooo...take it how ya will
