When I activate HOJ mode in the F-15, how do I know when my AMRAAMS are within range to fire? Do I have to wait for the ASE circle to appear on my VSD? If so HOJ must have a very short range, to short!

HOJ gives you no range information. The radar should burnthrough at around 20-30nm but its not working properly in 1.01. will be fixed in 1.02.
