Solution To Bad FPS.....

Ok there is somthing you can do to make your game run ALOT more smoother im talking 1.5 - 2.5x faster FPS.. ok here is what u gotta do:

1. Go to the Raven Shield Folder

2. Go to the System folder

3. Look for a file called RavenShield, its a NOTEBOOK WITH A GREAR ON IT.

4. Go into the file and scroll down untill you see VSync=True (look carfully and you will find it)

5. Change the True to False.

6. Now exit the file, and it will prompt you to save the your changes. Click Yes.

7. Right Click on the file and go to Properties.

8. Check in the Read-Only Box.

9. Apply the Changes and then you will get a much smoother game.


WARNING!: There is 1 bad thing about disabling VSync.. You will get massive mouse lag every now and then, When you do alt-tab and get get back in then it should be fine.
If you want to change it back with Vsync on, then u gutta go to properties uncheck the Read-Only box, then go down to Vsync=False and change it to Vsync=True.

heh, if you get mose lag,

go into the ravenshield.ini file, look for reduce mouse lag=false and set it to =true /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

This game depends more on the cpu then which videocard you have!!

yes but when i put reduce mouselag on, it slowed me down 10-20FPS =\

Just tried that fix, and with surprise it actually increased my fps from averaging 30-50 during multiplayer play, with all effects on high to 45-75 . I just tried it so I really haven't played with theh tweak long enough to experience the mouse lag, however I did try and put the mouse lag to true and noticed I lost the frame rates I gained with the VSync tweak. Anyway thanks for the info it worked for me!

Holy dog doo batman! I thought I already had these tweaked, but i checked and i didnt. When i started the game instead of getting 60fps in the main menu, it went up to 200

Yeah, the main menu is where I almost crapped myself when I applied my Omega Drivers..I get like 500 FPS at the main menu.

i get great fps with vsinc on. Turning it off makes no difference except the mouse lag.

vsync keeps your game from overcapping your refresh rate. if you turn that off, those high fps are you cards output. although, you'll be getting some massive tearing and unsmooth gameplay. i got 400s in game menu and 80s-100s ingame, but it was tearing like a mother.

Tweaks are not going to work for everyone. The reason I suggest the reduce mouse lag=true, is because on training in the menu, I used to get really bad mouse lag, and it was very hard for me to even ready up, once I changed that setting, everything was fine. It does reduce fps slightly, thats why its off by default, but you should also notice that the mouse doesnt feel as sluggish either, setting reduce mouse lag=false, was accually a tweak the day the UT2003 demo came out, to get higher fps /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif The mouse feels better for me IMO when set to true, when turning its most noticable, if you dont have good FPS, eg. avg 45-50, then I would leave it set to false.
