I need help

Well Ive bought this game installed on my computer (AMD XP2800+, 1GB DDR, Radeon 9600XT, WIN XP, latest drivers and dx installe) but even when installation proceeded without glitch when I try to start game screen just blinks, change resolution (to resolution of game menu I assume) and part of screen is just black.. And game just stuck nothing happends it even dont check my DVD-Rom if there is valid CD (game disk) I dont know where is problem my graphic card should be compatible with this game first I thought that there could be problem with my new 19" LCD but I ruled that possibility out when Ive tried my old CRT... Anyidea where could be problem ? Im really angry because I wanted to play all the weekend *snif* Thanks for your answers
