It said that Sam can carry a knife if he decides to put it in his inventory at the beginning of a mission. Would he be allowed to throw it and pick it up after the enemy is dead?

whats the point of throwing his knife?!!?!? its not SOF, why waste a perfectly good knife? also they said that there will be no knife killing, knife is only a tool, and a threatinging weapon.... the point is stealth... you dont just chuck a knife al people and "hope" u hit them...

If you throw a knife in someone's back, they're gonna scream and alert the whole building. Not too stealthy. The only real stealth kill with a knife is to cut the victim's throat, as this stops them from making noise.
But no stabbity kills, k?

the knife WILL be used for killing. it has been confirmed in all kinds of magz and articles. it's totally clear that the knife is used for killing once u watch the 5 or 10 minute vid from e3.

on this vid u can see a gut stab and a couple of back slashes with the knife. if you're still not sure it's a knife he's using, turn up the volume and u can here a slashing noise.

Throwing knives and combat knives are made differently. Sam's knife is made for more practical applications and isn't balanced properly to make a deadly throwing knife.

alright BliNd- show me where they said it will not be used for killing anymore, i want proof. plus did you read the game informer mag that had the cover story on SC:CT. they said for the xbox while holding a guard, one trigger will knock the guard out, while the other trigger when pressed will slit the guards throat thanks to fisher's new combat knife.

As for stealth kills with a knife... You don't go for the throat. I think the actual maneuver is to grab the enemy's mouth with your left hand, and slip the knife through the kidney and up into the lungs.

Ah, the knife is gonna be sweet, whether you choose to kill with it or not. I just picked up a Tom Clancy book and he makes use of an interesting technique for killing an enemy with a knife. He had the guy slip the knife between two vertebra to instantly sever the spinal column. Sounds like it would hard, but also quieter than slitting the throat.

With Orion's sword the Hunter arose and conquered the World with Fury and Grace.

It is not a throat slit, it's a neck break. The only time the knife will be used for killing is a CQB stab.

In the Xbox version, pulling one trigger deals a knockout blow, while pulling the other results in a slashed throat thanks to Sam's new knife.

so there you have it, no neck break but a throat slash.

But this particular knife issue/thread number 968,693,953,423,549 is about whether or not it can be thrown, which is not gonna happen. Like rik said .. throwing knives are balanced differently than combat knives, which is what Sam is using to kill with, threaten with, slice thru soft cell material with, etc.

Aside from the entertainment it gives my sick and twisted mind I assume? Stabbing in the spinal column means little to no blood, plus no noise from victim. A throat slash (at least in real life) would spray blood everywhere when the artery is severed. Not that I am gonna complain about it either way!

It would take too long waiting for them to die from internal bleeding.

I actually like the idea of using the knife as a throwing weapon as well, its just as stealthy as slitting their throat, which we cant do anyways.

But then again its not going to be a lethal force weapon so this thread is a waste of space.
