hey yall theres a teency conflict on what colors are what so if ya know please say.

this is what i think
black white grey= hues

red yellow blue= prime colors

green orange pink=brightness

Hues are colors like Pink , green, and orange.

Brightness colors are colors like grey and white and black that have no hue. a.k.a. the "plain" colors

Primary colors of light are Red, Green, and Blue.

Primary colors of paint/dye are Red, Yellow, and Blue.

Open up MS Paint, double-click on a color. Mess around with the labels Hue, Sat, and Lum (Hue, Saturation, and Brightness, respectively) and you'll get to see what everything is.

and on light the spectrum is based on violet and red
(ultraviolet-infared)

Well I'm often smarter than my teachers...in fact, probably more often than not.

And the visible spectrum has no base. If you made a radio wave a little smaller, you'd have a microwave. Shrink that some more and you get visible light. Shrink that even more and you get X-rays and eventually Gamma rays.

I do know what I'm talking about. I just know more than you care to hear. Colors we see are between Microwaves and X-rays.

So there is no base because it is all continuous.

well, my art teacher just says a hue is a synonym for color.... i don't really care much, i just draw my pics and use what looks good, don't pay much attention to terms
