I have a question:
What similarities will the expansion have with live? I mean will we have to go searching for all of the GZMs all over again? The GZM hunt seemed fairly pointless in the game. You get 15, opens great zero; get 15 more, go to calibration center. Were the GZMs placed there to entertain us while we waited for parts of Reezeero and Ae'gura to open up?
Each time we collected 7 journeys in an age, we would gain some knowledge about the Bahro. That's why I felt a sense of accomplishment each time I did so in prime. Where when I found GZMs It just opened a small section of Reezeero and then had to search for more GZMs or GZMCs (something like that, don't remember excact acronym). Just curious if we have to repeat this in the XP.
I hope I don't sound too naggy. Hey, I really don't mind having to search for the Great Zero markers all over again. I already know where they are! Oh, the calibration markers were fairly fun. Only because we competed as a community. I'll miss that. :(

I'm still not sure what the whole GZM search was all about. It was so unlike solving the age puzzles in Prime that it almost seemed to me to be just an interim activity to fill time until Live actually happened, or until the shutdown, if that decision had already been made. I'll admit that it was sort of fun at first, but I became disenchanted when one GZM search (fun) turned into several (enough, already!) I did complete both sets of 15 markers, gained access to the calibration room, and completed one mission. But that was mainly just to have something to do other than mourn about the shutdown. Besides, in the last few days before Prologue died, I was actually able to get into the City several times, so it seemed only fitting to try to complete some marker hunts while I could.
But again, it did all seem like mere busy-work, and the fact that it went on as long as it did seemed ominous to me; like something had gone wrong, and the GZM searches were just a last fling before the end.

CyanBill said that some of the new 'puzzles' will be familiar to those who took part in the GZM marker hunt.
What that suggests to me is that there will be a task along similar lines to complete, although not identical.

Well, please remember that the expansion pack is also targeted at the majority of people who never played Uru Live. Also note that the GZM search will be a lot easier now, because you won't have to fight to get in the city and you will be able to move around with absolutely no lag.
So, yes, its not a real puzzle, but it still achieves the same goal as the journey cloths for the cavern, i.e. it forces you to fully explore the cavern areas. And the reward is the opening up of new areas. If you have already done this in Live then it won't be all that interesting, but it should be almost trivial to reproduce.
Now, as far as the CGZM missions, that is another story altogether. The idea will those in Uru Live was that as many explorers did the missions they would help "calibrate" the great zero. I don't think there was any particular individual benefit planned, i.e. you probably would not have had to run CGZM missions if you did not want to. Eventually the Great Zero would be calibrated, and then it could be turned on. It wasn't clear what would happen when it turned on (at the very least the "GPS like" KI features would be enabled), but Laxman seemed to hint that it would have some other interesting features.
However, now there aren't lots of explorers. So now you will have to run each CGZM mission about 1000 times to get the Great Zero calibrated. So get to work (when XP1 is released)! :-)

I quite enjoyed hunting for the GZMs in Live because not only did it force you to explore the city properly but it also got you talking to other people - including people who weren't in your hood.
I found that many times when I was hunting down markers someone would offer advice or show me where to go and I would do the same for anyone else who needed help. That was the nice thing about Live.
However, hunting for markers now would not be quite so much fun, although it would no doubt send us to places that we may not visit ordinarily - so I am happy to take whatever they give us and I have no doubt whatsoever that I will enjoy it **big smiles**
