Hey.. I am courius how are YOU going to play this game when it comes out? are you going to play the Stealthy way? or are you going to just take a gun and start killing every bad guy you see?

wel I am going to play the stealthy way.. cus I wanna sneak up behind one terrorist and kill him with the knife.. I love that.. The stealthy way like in Splinter Cell..

I prefer the stealth way and I hope the KI is to good for playing FarCry like Serious Sam.

BTW Crytek should include a option so if you chose that option you can go in the jungel and wast bad guys .. I mean like Mafia.. you can chose "Free Ride" and just go in town and do what ever you fell to do.. and in GTA3 and VC you can go in the town and just do what you want to do.. do YOU think they should do that..? so you can just go in the jungels and kill some guys.. not with the storyline?

It's your lucky day isn't it? Looks like a Desert Eagle to me. I would be stealthy to an extent. Such as slowly creep through the jungle on an unsupecting fireteam and just let my machine gun rip.

yeah a Desert Eagle is power full.. but still you can do the stealthy way..How? you can just leet him spot you and then you can run from where he saw you from.. then go to him and pop his head with a bullet.. and no one will see or hear him.. so that's little stealth.. or what do you think?

You could hit them in the temporal area with the butt of the Desert Eagle. That could make it stealthy. Technically you could do that with any gun though.

I've seen the silend desert eagle in games yes! probebly posible in real life aswell, but since this IS a game, there is a posibility! tho a silent desert eagle is no fun! whats the point with a firearm that can chop down trees if its silent? got to FEEL the power you know! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

If you have ever seen Killing Time, it is a British northern Geordie film. The Italian assassin uses an African .50 Game Suppressed pistol and a Desert Eagle Suppressed also.

I think that the weapons will be importent in Far Cry.. cus if you wanna get throu the jungel you will have to use "The Mind".. the AI is very good I have heard and the only thing to beat them is to use the Mind and the Weapons..

That means I always prefer to use a knife. I dont enjoy shooting someone as much from a distance. If I have to, I will. But I am know as a stalker. "Blade" So stealth is my preferred Modus Operandi

I think we will not get an answer.. but anyway.. I have seen some movies about Far Cry and it seems that its hard to play with the stealthy way.. cus there are only 2 weapons that a "stealthy".. the MP5 and the Knife.. I will see what way I will chose when the game comes out..

Well i think the coolest,and most basic way to do it is to try stealth first(sniper etc.) and then u should try the rambo method.

Any way I was thinking about if you could take out enemy units by stealing an officers radio and calling for a gunship to level the area where the may be. If that is even possible.

Lead one of the teams to another team, with you in the middle the fire and the others fire, hey presto. They shoot each other, if you are not shot to shreds first. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

I think it would be nice if they would deliver something on 11 november, a demo maybe? Or just a message to tell us the game has gone gold?

But, I've got to agree with Jasper; no official site, no demo, no beta-testers, no new material, no nothing!
I'm starting to think there won't even be a demo this year!

(As long as they don't tell us the game has been stolen or they lost it.)

Btw, I think stealth is difficulter than guns blazing, especially with such a good AI (topic).

But look at Max Payne 2, there is no demo, the release date wasn't available until a few weeks ago.

So it could be safe to assume that Far Cry could be out in November.

A rambo action i mean if they move in fire teams and are following leader and are using fireteam based tactics then even if u shoot the head officer then the next in line steps up the ladder to get ya . and lets say one would charge in youll kill the first two or maybee three and a third and fourth will have flanked around ya and BAM game over lol

It's probably not possible to play the entire game on stealth, especially when the first weapon you get is a desert eagle. So a mixture will probably be the case. I bet there will be places where you will prefer stealth over anything else. If they've robots or something you would be dead if not playing stealth.

The idea of stealth is that you are undetected or unnoticed by the enemy, as long as you are alive and p*ssing them off, you are doing OK.

Look, it's sounds all very nice and so, but I still think there will be some limitations in the game. For instance, after you blow up that base there will be helicopters searching for you, if a mission objective would be to blow up a chopper you can't use stealth to do it now can you?

Or were you planning to play hide and seek with those choppers? I still think it won't be possible to play the entire game on stealth. I mean, you would have to find a mp5 in the first level fast to get through some of the heavily guarded passes that lead to the base. There won't be a way up without mercenaries, that would be strange.

Well, I think it's advisable to keep stealth as a resort because it will be preferable at some points in the game without doubt. So it's a good idea!

I will probably be very tense, tied to my chair, enjoying the start-up of the game with a great feeling, enjust the graphic settings, controls, audio and start-up the game.

Then I'll watch the cutscenes and just play as I like it, fast and progressing. And then go to sleep at 5am.

I'm really looking forward to this, you know.

There ain't not one part I'll probably not enjoy, including the stealth part and helicopter parts (no these ain't confirmed).

I live in Australia and i can get Hardware so damn cheap it's not funny like a Geforce FX 5600 ultra for 220 aus$

Stealth is a vital part of almost any jungle like game otherwise they may as well not have a jungle at all, besides you can test yourself on how stealthy you are, this game would be soo good for stealth seeming you can use the sandbox editor to make your own challenge with my mods that i want to make i will add a boot camp (training ground) and that will be like an obstacle course then a weapon testing ground then moving on to the stealth section. it'll be fun
You can also have Run and gun tactics aswell just for the more action movie feel and experimentation with AI hehe.
Imagine if they put dino's into the game and you are in this situation:
You are walking through the dense brush and you stumble across a pack of Raptors then you lead them to chase you and you then run through an enemy camp and whatch as they rip into the enemies it would be a cracker or the same with one T-Rex.

I reckon Crytek should make dino's into the game for extra playability, but it should be in mod form otherwise it would ruin our hopes for the game.

So either stealth or non stealth will rock the game, Far Cry is going to be a hit to remember for a loooong time.

Anyway if there were dino's it would add to the whole stealth thingy, if you ran from a group of gaurds and when around a group of dino's the guards run straight into the middle and get ripped to shreads( i have to stop imagining things).
I was only pointing out the fun possibilities, that's all.
You do also have a good point there killing humans would be much more fun. Just imagine a Predator Mod hmmmm.

I am not to keen on having dinos in this game.

They are just too extreme, and nobody knows for 100% what they were really like.

I can't wait for this game. Night scenarios are the best, but I like foggy weather conditions and clear days.

And he says in that interview that the game will be released on PC, XBox and PS2 too.

And the game would be released this Cristmas.
This is from a interview at E3 that didn't hit the internet because it's a special for PCGameplay.

It shows Far Cry in action for almost 6 minutes, and the producer says they had almost an hour of playable game.

Also, at least 32 players in an different multiplayer version of the game, arena based gameplay with, acccording to the producer, a lot of camping, stealth and hiding, and a couple of different multiplayer mods that actually are made for this kind of play.

The only thing they had to do was remove those swirly things, change the hud, and voila, they have a demo ready for us. I mean, I'm writing this out of boredom I think.

well yeah but when I have the chance I will sneak.. example: you walk behind a tree and you see a bad guy.. he stands in green bushes and they are very high.. what do you do?? A: You lie down and heading towards him and then you stand up and kill him with what ever you fell like. OR B: when you see him you take your M4 out and starts run towards him and starts shoting at him.. (and maybe the other gaurds hear)

It's a FPS, right? How many shooters do you know that actually take advantage of stealth? Thief, SC, the rest is shootem' up. There has to be a reason for that.
I mean, I played SplinterCell and enjoyed it, but this game plays on a tropical island, mostly in the sunlight.
Only at night in the swamps you would have an advantage, and in that case, you'll probably be pretty much forced to use stealth.

I would just like to point out that stealth is not hide and seek, shoot and run, or something like that. It's precision work that requires skill, patience, and a silenced weapon. And patience is something I (like so many others) do noy have in this case.

Open-ended gameplay means you can use any approach you desire, stealth or not, it's just so adrenaline pumping to keep shooting for several minutes! Aiming, pulling the trigger, strafing, and hiding to reload.

No, i don't think so. it usually has rockets and a chaingun attached to it and can fly really fast. As I already said, it's a difficult aircraft to put in a game, ceratinly if it has to be flyable.
I hope crytek made it possible to acces everything in the game including this vehicle, but don't count on it. It's probably impossible to get without shooting it down or something.

I was actually thinking about the demo and there was an article that claimed that the demo would be released at the end of this month.

I don't know about you guys but the 27th is pretty much the end of the month.

Also if the released date for the 28th November is true then there is only 32 days left. That is cutting it close for a demo. They are a good way of getting attention and publicity, why not release it you Far Cry hoggers UBI!!!

Another thing about stealth is that a suppressed weapon is not actually needed, it is the strategy and thinking involved.

It is also HMMWV= High Mobility Multi-purposed Wheeled Vehicle.

Yeah I heard it to that the demo was coming this mounth! and of course you will need your brain to play this game.. but it all depends on UBI and Crytek.. will they release a demo this mounth or not..

Actually, it's said in a post in the begin of this month that there WOULDN'T be any demo content or release this month! So let's continue to wait and see what the nect month will bring us. At the end of that month we will know, think of that!

It is because UBI is so lame at updating thier community, I mean once a month is not at all acceptable.

I mean what the hell do they do for the other 30 days of the month that keeps them from giving some info, that could take 5 minutes of their time.

getting back on subject, i just thought of a way to play Far Cry.

At the beggininb of the game, soon as you get on land, start running deep into the jungle, where the enimy cant find you, and make change the hunter into the hunted.

Stalk them down....
