Allow me to be more clear. The patch should be made available soon after the holdidays. As to why not now, there are three primary reasons:

1- We need the localized versions for the French and German markets. Given the Holidays in Russia, I can not expect to see those until after the New Year. I did not mean to imply they would be getting drunk; don't read too much into that please.

2- We need time to set up mirrors and coordinate the patch release on FTPs.

3- Test needs time to test the final 1.01 patch and ensure no game-stopper bugs have been introduced. We do not want to rush this patch out can cause new problems (I want to avoid a patch for a patch situation). Along with item two, this cannot begin in earnest until 05 Jan.

This holiday could not have come at a worse time.

I do not want them to rush it, look what happened with the game!!!! We begged and begged and pressured and pressured.

Which now needs a patch.
