I have a dual channel motherboard and a processor with a 266 FSB.

Currently I have 1 stick of 512MB DDR333.

In another PC I have 2 sticks of 256MB DDR266.

Would I get better performance if I put the two sticks in to utilize the dual channels on the motherboard and will performance increase by syncronizing the RAM and front side bus speeds?

AMD Athlon XP 2000 @ 1.67 Ghz
Asus A7N8X Rev 2.0 BIOS C1007
K-BYTE 512MB DDR333
ATI ALL-IN-WONDER RADEON 8500DV 64MB CATALYST 4.1

The answer is yes even though it is a bit off topic http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

With dual channels you will get better perfomance - especially when multitasking. Syncing the FSB and the memory is also recommended. Setting the moemory to a faster speed will only degrade your performance...

I recommend going to the forum at NForcersHQ for questions like this about the A7N8X:
