Of course I like Half-Life the best. It basically revolutionized the FPS genre. Also, Monolith makes great FPS games. I've liked all of their FPS games in the past.

AA is good. Way too many bugs and flaws though still. Ever since version 1.1 (I tried to get 1.0, but all the download servers were PACKED and even when I did get it, 1.0 was so buggy it wouldn't run on my pc), I have had a problem with getting kicked from servers for being "idle" when I would be moving around and stuff. It seems to recognize being prone as idle. Pathetic.
Also, the server list downloads WAY too slow. But if you can deal with all that, then the game is awesome.
But anyway, my favorite FPS would be a three way tie. Goldeneye/Perfect Dark/Halo. All 3 have the truly amazing multiplayer aspects.

Tejo, I said halo. But it is a tie between it, Goldeneye, and Perfect Dark.
All three games can be considered the best console FPS of all time. All three of them rewrote the books on what is considered a good FPS.

Tejo, perfect dark is a "sequel" persay to Goldeneye. Rare lost the Bond license so they made Perfect Dark for N64. Unlike Bond, perfect dark is futuristic. It is better than Goldeneye, IMO, because of the sheer amount of weapons, levels, etc. It also features cooperative play and BOTS in multiplayer. It was the first console FPS to have bots. It could handle up to 12 bots. It was an AWESOME game.

Every Bond since Goldeneye has sucked. Really, the people who played Goldeneye can't like the new Bonds because they don't compare.
NJ, it probably would suck compared to some newer games just because it is so old now.
Tejo, if you liked Goldeneye then you would have loved Perfect Dark.
Sorry Albedo, didn't see the question change. I would go with MP2 as well.

1.0 was the first release, cant expect the first release of a free downloadable game to be bugless, even work for that matter. With the latest 2.1 patch I noticed the server list appears MUCH faster then before. It takes about 10 seconds when it used to take about 2 minutes. Not only that but they added quite a few maps since 1.0 and now the game even has ragdolls. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
If you have a cable modem and some free time, give 2.1 a chance and see if you like it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Yeah, I know. I didn't expect 1.0 to run all that well but it was disappointing. I know I shared the pain with TONS of other people as we waited for the 1.1 patch. Even 1.1 was extremely buggy and I only completed the training with it. I had to wait for 1.21 to start playing multiplayer.
I have 2.1. I am not playing it right now though because it still has the problem of kicking people for being idle when I am not idle. I am just prone. But I still move my mouse and even move around on the ground. This bug really makes the game no fun for me.

Perfect Dark was on the N64. A souped up Goldeneye with a killer storyline, great graphics for 64 bit (it was expansion pack compatible to sharpen the graphics), a female heroine that puts Lara Croft to shame, and my favorite FPS ever. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

its an FPS that Bungie did before they did Halo
its what us true Halo fans think is Halo's prequel
its set in the future (obviously) and has you as a security guard on board a giant colony ship fighting off an alien race that is trying to enslave you and capture the ship
had an absolutely cracking storyline (so many twists and turns, and a brilliant background history) as well as superb graphics (for its time that is. it came out a year or two after Doom and looked five times better)
it also had brilliant weapons, friendly NPCs, and amazing aliens to fight.
you can get it on the Mac only though.
