View Full Version : Can someone help me with my KI please?

Before I go back into UU and embarrass myself again.... I have no idea how to chat to the others with the KI.

Others talked to me, and some even invited me places, but I couldn't answer them. I felt like my mouth was zipped. Too bad I didn't have a ctrl for stamping my feet. I did a dance instead, but the others didnt understand why I wouldn't talk to them.

Any help (step by step) much appreciated.

Toria thanks I don't have netscape.

joann99 I've tried to do 2 shards and I did have to start from the begainning with each. Also once you are in the hood the classroom has a KI instruction book...very helpful!

I did try another shard, and did have to start again. Didn't know about the instruction book though. Just about did a runner when I saw some people because I didn't want them to talk to me and for me to seem rude again.

I read the book and can do a few things, but chat is still a problem for me. Can anyone help?

Just start typing what you want to say and end with pressing enter. f you have some of the letter keys for set directionkeys (wasd or something) then start the sentence wit another letter or symbol and delete that one, you stay the nin typing mode and can start your message. If you by accident start typing a sentnce then press esc and you'll return to play mode. Hope you can follow this. if not maby someon can make a picture of it.

Joann, quite simple. Just type in what you want to say!! you can use the emotes to convey feelings, they are /sit /clap /cheer /laugh etc. but for actual chatting I just type away. My mic isn't great. But to use the mic to talk, hit the tab key and hold it down and talk away. Pretty cool to hear somebodies voice, for sure!! Good luck and let us know what shards you are playing on okay? and what your KI number is. When you've got your KI up, hit the uppermost right button and that gives you the full screen, your KI number is in the lower left corner. Jot it down and then it's a simple matter for us to enter it in when we are in that shard. For buddies, you can click on any name and then click on the little arrow beside buddy in the list. Good luck!!!!

But Toria, where do I type it??

I try to type, but nothing shows up, no cursor, no typed words. The only thing I have been able to do is start a heading somewhere and type a message, but it didn't show up in chat. So I don't even know what happened to that.

This is frustrating. I can't find anything on UO either.

You may need to update your KI on Gahreesen. There may be a linking book in the Nexus in the neighborhood.

You may not have to start each shard off from scratch if you import the progress from a URU ABM sav file, as long as you haven't played To D'ni or PotS. I copied the sav directory before playing the expansion packs, so I was able to begin in UU at the same point on each shard.
