this is in a readme for graphics cards...
- Splinter Cell supports the following graphic cards
- Nvidia GeForce2 Ti/Ultra/Pro/GTS/MX400/MX
- Nvidia GeForce3 family
- Nvidia GeForce4 family
- ATI Radeon 8500/9000/9500/9700
- Matrox Parhelia*
if I dont have one of them, does that mean i can NOT run splinter cell?

That's from the readme for the original game, not Pandora Tomorrow. PT only supports Geforce 3, Geforce 4 ti, Geforce FX and Radeon 8500 and up cards.

That's just the family name you see there. 8500 uses a different chipset then the 9000. So they have different family names. But basically anything from a radeon 9500 and up will run the game, though I doubt that it will run smooth @ your PC cuz this game requires a lot of rendering power.

I am going to run this on my desktop systems, where I have Radeon 9600's, but I was thinking I might also throw it on my new dell laptop, which has a Nvidia GeForce FX Go5200. Will P:T support this? Somnehow I doubt that it will, I probably shouldn't even waste my time installing.
