Well I have an X-Box and there is no doubt that this is the best console now available. I now it for sure because my brother owns a PS2. But before making your choice it is wise to look at the available games for these consoles. The number of games available for a PS2 is much higher as for the X-Box. But the most games for the X-Box are from the highest quality (graphics, gamespeed). So make your own choice!

I am now playing Splinter Cell and can't wait for Raven Shield.

Everybody in this forum will tell you the Xbox.

PS2 is on its end. Still has great games, but we're getting next-gen games on Xbox, and for me next-gen games are games like RS3, where you can use voice-enabled commands, where you can play cooperatively with friends online on high-speed missions, with amazing graphics and 5.1 sound.

this is going to start a Flame War. but in all honesty the Xbox, it was able to handle the SC/modded Unreal engine without having to be re-done like the PS2 version of SC

Well, Ubi Soft makes a lot of games for X-Box and such that are like Raven Shield, so that's why a lot of people here are saying to get X-Box. Now, this all depends on what kind of gamer you are. If you're into going online and playing against those other fools, enjoy nice, smooth graphics, and the such, X-Box is in your favor. PS2, on the other hand, has a selection of online games, like "SOCOM: US NAVY SEALs" and the upcoming sequel. If you like Raven Shield, you'll like SOCOM, but SOCOM is in third person view. Also, let me remind you that SOCOM also lets you give out voice activated commands, and the upcoming "SWAT" game will also feature that. And if you want a bigger selection of games, and I guess more RPG type games, you'll want the PS2.

I know I might be leaning more toward the PS2, but it's totally up to you. I just don't like it that you got all these people saying one thing with out giving the other a thought. I thought I should have been a little more desriptive with the PS2. BTW, I don't have an X-Box, but I do plan on getting one, basically only for online play, since it's setup seems much better than the PS2's online setup. And also, remeber, YOU MUST HAVE BROADBAND TO PLAY ONLINE WITH X-BOX!!!

I hope this helps. On the other hand, there's always the lonely GameCube.

Hey Don.... I have to disagree with you. I have played socom and it is not near as fun online as GR or GRIT. And as far as RPGs go all the PS2 has is the FF series which is nuthing but taking turns attacking. Xbox has KOTOR and this game is one of the best on any game systems, even if u dont like star wars (like me). And when u do play SOCOM online it is really laggy b/c there are 56kers that play it, and it takes the fun outta the game.Yes the PS2 has more games but the better looking and playing games are on the xbox. If you like FPS and Sports games than you have to get the xbox b/c of the quality and graphics of these genres on the XBOX.



So if you want an opinion from someone who owns both....
let me just say ..... that I still play halo everyday since it was released!!! Be smart and get an xbox. Dont listen to these annoying PS2 fanboys they dont know what they are missing. Trust me!

Texan you are really blind.. how about u go by some facts to? Socom Navy Seals is the best online tactical shooter game out there as of now... most lil xbox fans would agree.. and the only reason to get the xbox is for HALO AND HALO 2, which really is just 2 games.. but now rainbow6 3 and KOTOR is out im sure some people would want to go with xbox.. im sticking with ps2 till xbox 2 and ps3 come out than i will choose best 1... but for online shooters socom is the best, and i dont think there is one real reason to argue... besides lag, which by the way will be fixed in socom 2, along with cheaters&glitchers, so u decide which system...

No Im not Blind I just know which console is the best deal and most powerful. The xbox already has a hard drive in it which lets u dnld content for games when the ps2 has one coming out that you have to pay around $100 for. And you also have to get an ethernet port which is about $40. So you will be paying around $140 plus the price of a ps2 and an online game. And Yes in my opinion, which everyone has,
SOCOM is not at all that great as you ps2 fanboys wish it would be. SOCOM 2 might be better but im not gonna hold my breath b/c I dont play my ps2 anymore and why should I pay $140 just to play 1 game online?? When I can play GRIT for only $50 for the xbox starter kit?? And GRIT (I Think) is the better game all around b/c 3rd person shooters are all played out. And If You dont like 1st person shooters well then maybe you should go with the P(eice) (of) S(h**t) 2 b/c xbox has so many FPSs coming.

Lets face it ps2 is no longer a contender compared to the xbox. xbox is made towards the gamers into , kick *** online games, all army and military games, basically every game possible. if u compared the same game on each system xbox without a doubt will look better. Not only is microsoft and bungie kickin out awesome games but now xbox is mostly backed by, too me, the greatest army game creator in the industry which of course is ubi soft. with the ghost recon series( but for u ps2 fans there will be an exclusive ghost recon game) and rs3 and of course one of the coolest games ever made splinter cell. These great games blended with the xbox live is an unbeatable force,


p.s. if any of u wanna play halo online (most of u have already figured this out) go to xbconnect.com and download the free version of xbconnect u dont need any xtra cables if u already have xbox live. if u cant figure out the set-up i dont want to explain it. ask someone else.

after hours of investigating xbox toped PS2 in every aspect apart from one area the wide range of games.

alouthough PS2 have alot of games the quality is sh!t every mother f**ker can put a game on the PS2. It was fun watching the PS2 fanboys defend their loving console and it was pathetic. The quality of games that the xbox have is streakes ahaead of the PS2. Seeing the 8 minute E3 in game demo of Halo 2 put the nail in the coffin.

Id still like you guys to reply and start up another fire war with other PS2 owners.

That IS an almighty video!! damn I've seen that video must be 30 times now.. but this is neither the time nor the place to go into HALO2 (can't believe its just 4-8 months away(ish!/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif ).

I'm glade you've made a decision based on your own findings Sam636. The PS2 is great, I have one sitting infront of the tv in my front room, all I play on it is Vice City though(but even thats coming to the big ugly box soon!). The cube doesn't get played at all, I'm looking forward to Mariokart DD and I'd like to play Link(Zelda, whatever) but I have been dissapointed with the games. The XboX is used daily still for Halo and GR, those 2 games alone have been enough to keep me going over the last 9 months! So yes I speak from experience of all 3 consoles. Well not just those consoles really, I've been playing consoles for the last 13years and I still think its the BEST. I still have all 3 under my roof and I wouldn't Diss any of them seriously(but Xbox IS the best In my and it would seem your Opinion now)

What have you got to look forward to with your new machine, well Xbox Live, (dont need to say anymore, you either like it or you dont...... sorry, sorry, you either like it or you dont or you dont have XboX, this service rocks IMO!! XBL is about to change and you'll notice the first change on xbox.com today! If your able to get Internet thats quick enough.

As I write this I have taken a brief break from halo. Iv been playing it for three hours on heroic, Thoes sheilded f**kers are b!tches to kill, But I have recintly mastered the technique of the plsma pistol. Still Iv yet to pass the Truth And Reconcileration or somthing like that, and have encounted these big bastards called "hunters". I love this box coming from a sh!t old windows 98 this is like a dream come true, The opening movie of the green pistols makeing the xbox logo bought a tear to my eye. But what toped it off was holding the controller myself and escaping the pillar of artium, And on the second level halo were you truley saw the full effect and power of the xbox.

I despise any gamer that say xbox is sh!t, just please hire a box out and play it only then you can juge. Or if you are a PS2 owner, buy a box then you can have the best of both worlds.

Anyways If you or any other people reading this post have any tricks of the trade Im all ears.But right now I have to get back to some serious covenent wipass.

Only advice I'm gonna give is if you run out of ammo get another weapon.... ANY weapon, dont be fussy unless you have a choice. A good combo for any situation is the human and covenant pistols, take the shields down with the charged shot from the covie pistol then pop a round or two in their head! tricky but effective... You'll soon learn which weapons are most effective against which foe and then its just a case of making sure you have that weapon if you come across any.... or adapting if you dont!(by adapting I mean hit em with everything you got!!)..

You may have noticed it allready but in any outdoor level check out the hazing effect the sun gets when you look at it through some trees or when its partly obstructed by a building or cliff, this is some of the best graphics use I think I have seen, one of my friends bought an xbox after playing Halo, he just kept looking at the sun for about 15mins, checking out different effects and angles and he kept saying Wow! not a trick or aid but if you wanna show why Halo and Xbox are such a good combo then this should help prove the point!

Yeah ViceCity is coming to XboX according to sources at Rockstar games.... just do a search on Google under "Vice City XboX" and see the results. Its not called GrandTheftAuto cos thats Sonys name to keep and have exclusivity over but they dropped that and just called it ViceCity. HAHA!

i have all systems out, and yes a gamecube too

I like GR and GRIT much much better than Socom, i disliked socom so much i took it and the ps2 broadband adapter back when i got in Live beta.

I have been extremely disappointed in my PS2, compared to the greatness of the PS1.

the xbox is the console system/s of the future, sony will eventually take 2nd.

but as i can now see, you already made your choice, and you wont be disappointed.
