The screen shot feature in PB is the best feature but it is being underused. Can you please make it to where everyone in the server can take a PB Screen Shot. If this causes lag make it to where you can only take one or two ss's per round. This would be a great feature and would stop hackers. I would really enjot this feature so would many others. Thanks..

The screenshot feature needs to be more reliable before they allow just anyone to take them. As it is, we get corrupted screenshots from way too many honest players that it's an unreliable tool at best.

Problem is even if you could... the screen shots go into the servers ravenshield/sytem/pb/svss folder. So you would need access to the particular server to view. SOOOOO if you did this it would be nice that the option allowed for the screenshots requested go to the REQUESTER and the server.

But the lag would def be a prob.

No, they should make it to where it goes into the person that took the ss's folder not the servers folder.

It would be great if anyone could take screenshots at any time, but think of how ghey it would be when people decide to use it to lag other players out.

If everyone could take 2 screenshots per round, that would mean that a total of 30 screenshots could be taken of one person in a room of 16 people. I run at 1600x1200 res, which puts a single screenshot in the 5MB range. I have a fairly good upload speed so it wouldn't affect me too much, but sending 150MB per round?

If this is possible which I don't think it is, would it be a better idea for each player to make 2 screenshot requests per round? The computer of the player in question would take requests and take screenshots when the requests are made, then at the end of the round, would send then. That way we all get to wait for the player (who hopefully doesn't have 56k) to upload 150MB.

This is probably a moot point but most people have a transfer limit in the tens of GB. I have a 30GB limit which would mean theoretically I could play less than 200 rounds before my ISP would decide to drop my service.

Bad idea. Let the admins take care of it. Letting players take screenshots serves next to no purpose.

Pretty sure the most common hacks have screenshot protection in already.. so this is kind of pointless....

the best thing to weed out the few crapper hacks is having automated screenshots, where the admin just looks through the logs afterwords... and can post them on punksbusted, and they can get added to that ban list.....

Correct, I believe the screenshot size is around 200kbs (???) and if there is 16 people in the server and they all want screenshots, and maximum of 30 seconds imbetween, you do the math, 16*200=3200kbs anyone on a 56k would be.....

not enough screenshots have caught cheaters for me to agree that SS's are working... the main private hack (tormentium) bypasses the screenshots... so yeah i turned SS's off on our server, waste of resources is the way i look at it...

id still recommend leaving it on, or at least SS once or twice in ladder matchers...

screenshots are a good idea, providing they only take screenies of cheaters. I think a replay option would be better suited though.
