I see some people on this forum are asking for screenshots like 3d u-boat pens and coastlines. By the sound of it the dev team has made the game so there is no need to do coastlines and harbours.

This is even worse than leaving out dynamic campaign if you ask me.

I thought about that too earlier but didnt bother to post it. Sounds very reasonable.

Strangely, i cannot help to admit that i still are abit curious about the game, even if all the best parts are stripped away.

I mean, think.. random encounters on teh way to the patrol zone. This will be perfect if it is correctly done, â´what is MORE interesting to knnow to save the dying horse, is to know how BIG will these assigned patrol zones be?

an aquarium or half atlantic? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

No one here knows if you are right, not even you. So calling the dev team cheap it not the way to go !!!

I think the dev team is dedicated and has lots of eye for detail. But of course I also hope they will still our thirst to campaign info and coast/port info very soon.

I was thinking more of "A Modest Proposal", by Jonathan Swift.

I wouldn't mind that if SH3 is open onough for modding. They're working on other parts which become really detailled like the crew and the interior, graphics, sound and physics. If they do it right, they (or modders) should be able to expand the sim more and more until it gets a real killer. Of course that would mean some addons we need to buy, but for a really good sim I'm ready to pay some bucks. As it looks now (and who's totally sure about how it will be except Ubi and the devs?? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif - we don't have that much information...) they concentrate on the sub fights and the sub itself, with all it's details. Adding coastlines, harbors and scenerey, even an open campaign mode and destroyers for multiplay should be no problem in an open engine. Just look what ppl did with Half-Life or Unreal Tournament. They made totally new games out of them. If SH3 would be made similarly in program structure, it can be expanded similarly, maybe the extreme vision would be a global sim for multiple craft types like battleships, PT boats and even planes. It looks so superb already, it could be quite up-to-date even in 2 or 3 years with much more features. And for a game that I play for years I don't have any problems investing some 100-300 Euros in. Standard games cost 40-50 bucks nowadays and don't usually last longer than a month. Compared to that, maybe 50 bucks every 6 month isn't too much at all then, if it keeps me attracted to it. A good example if Il-2 FB. I paid 79DM (~40 Euros) for Il-2, 45 Euros for FB and 25 Euros for AEP and I'm playing it almost every day since the demo is out. That's already two and a half years.

In Glasgow you would hear:

'Dev Teams! Three for a Pound, Three for a Pound-ah!'

I'm going to look to see if there are any second hands ones on E-bay. There are loads of them around just now!
